Popular Post JustDave Posted July 17, 2022 Popular Post Posted July 17, 2022 (Not a CC, but waiting on my first 24:24 to come in and this weekly review stuff helps me narrow down what I'm going to smoke and provides me an excuse to make some room 😉 ) Paul Garmirian PG Artisan's Selection No. 6 DOMINICAN FILLER AND BINDER, CONNECTICUT SHADE WRAPPER PG's most mild blend.  They would call this mild to medium, I would call this mild.  I normally wouldn't smoke these but have one left over from when I was trying what that store carried. Purchased from PG Cigars in Mclean, VA in 2022, no known age statement. 7 x 48 Build quality: well constructed,  no relights needed, easy draw without any issues, held a very firm ash, smooth throughout, puffed every 70 seconds(I use an interval timer, don't judge me 😛) Cold Draw: V-Cut.  Mild honey and unsteapped tea, really nice actually. first light: really really mild, like 'am I smoking a cigar?' mild.  I get overnight oats or maybe left over cereal milk.  No pepper, no hay(which I almost alway find with Connecticut wrappers). first third: some sweet notes but I can't narrow them down to a specific sweet flavor in the mouth or on retrohale, no spice at all, good butter flavor and smell. second third: bit more light sweetness, light honey almost.  Not a strong flavor, but there really aren't any strong flavors going on here. final third: still an easy smoke, develops a bit more of a graham cracker flavor.  retrohale is getting very light lemon pepper 75 minutes smoke. 30 minutes later my mouth is going 'we smoked a cigar a bit ago' but it isn't like there is an ashtray in there. Pleasant morning cigar, I have no complaints at all.  For my own personal preference I strongly prefer something that can stand up to my morning coffee and this wouldn't.  During the entire smoke I kept thinking about how this is the 80 proof irish whiskey of the cigar world to me.  I don't know why, but that kept popping into my mind. Very well done version of what it is, light and mild, easy to smoke, and not asking a lot of you.  I'd strongly recommend this to someone who likes a mild cigar and I'll keep several smaller vitolas of the same blend in my box for people who want to try their first cigar so as not to scare them off.  6
