Wallabies playing England tomorrow night in the first Rugby test of the series. Tomahawk steaks and cigars a must 

Sunday, taking PJ's boat with PJ and Hutley down to the Gold Coast as it needs to be pulled out of the water for some work Monday.  Cigars on the way down, long lunch at a restaurant once we arrive at the Goldie, sleep it off on the boat Sunday night and back to work midday Monday. \

That's the plan

V cold in Melbourne. Just finished watching the Aussies bowl out Sri Lanka on a questionable deck in the cricket. Tonight, AFL on TV, a few beers and teams catch up with mates. Tomorrow, might watch horse races and more AFL on TV if raining. If not, go to the local footy club I used to play for and watch them. Sunday, more of the same. Footy, stout, red wine weather. Maybe go watch the Tigers at the MCG play the Eagles. Cheers.

A month's worth of rain for Sydney over the next three days and very, very cold (for what I'm used at this time of year). I'm hoping to see the sun some time again maybe next Thursday or Friday.

Watching the end of Season 4 of Stranger Things with my wife on Netflix because frankly, who isn't doing that? Also, the next episode of Season 3 of The Orville.

Make some Blanton's Bourbon Old-Fashioneds, drink coffee, stay warm, learn French on Duolingo. Watch India play England in Cricket because, as Bill mentioned, Australia finished off their game tonight against Sri Lanka.

I never got around to season 3 because I heard things went downhill and I wasn't hugely invested. Does season 4 lift back up again?

In the history of Netflix Ratings there's Squid Game, Bridgerton Season 2 and Stranger Things Season 4. That's how big it is.

La Barrosa beach this evening. On the road again tomorrow, staying in Mérida tomorrow night to see the Roman ruins on Sunday. Sunday night in Salamanca, then Monday up to Bilbao. We have tickets for the Guggenheim on Wednesday. Overnight ferry to Ireland on Thursday. No idea how I’ll fit all the stuff in the car.

Finally recovered from a chest infection, so looking forward to playing cricket tomorrow and having a cigar afterwards.

Even feeling like utter death I played cricket last weekend. Opened the batting, knew I'd made a terrible mistake and so ran myself out so I could go back and have a rest before we fielded.

Clearing a few acres to the ground on the farm for the new house and garage. Actually excited about the garage. An honest to goodness HOME garage. All the toys stay in the other one. Room for 3 daily driver cars and my wood shop equipment. May get to go back to making knife handles again. Cigars and making wood beautiful are my calming hobbies. Still debating about whether to put the cigar room/walk-in humi in there or not. Thinking about a loft in the rear corner. We'll see.

Spending the weekend with my in-laws at a campground / lake community in the middle of nowhere Illinois with the local hillbillies.  These are the weekends that make me wish I was a drinker again.  I'm hoping this won't be the overcrowded zoo I expect it to be.  We will make the best of it and I'll be bringing plenty of time-killing cigars 😁

3 1/2 day weekend, bbq and fireworks.  Can't be beat.

Wish I could watch that match but watching rugby in the US is super challenging most of the time.

Arriving in Barcelona in the morning, checking into the Mandarin, getting the lay of the land, sleeping off the jet lag at the rooftop pool, and then Bar Canete for dinner.  

Sunday going to Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, and various other sites, and then dinner at L'Olive.

Monday, doing a day trip to some nearby village, and then an evening Tapas/Wine pairing tour.

Some completely useless trivia; The mental institution on Stranger Things is actually the Ford buildings at Berry college in Rome, Georgia. Debbie's father retired from there as a professor of sociology and her mom was head librarian. Her father should have been featured on Stranger Things, but that is a topic for another day... 😳

Finishing up my broken wine cooler-to-humidor conversion, my 4th. Finally got it down. 
Tonight’s menu is extreme surf and turf. Reverse sear the Wagyu rib eyes in the cast iron pan, slow cook on indirect heat on the bbq while basting with my herbed butter. Enjoying a Lusitania while the magic happens.

I'm not sure what episode we watched past night, but it was easily the best episode of TV I have watched in a long while. The wife and I are really enjoying this season.

To put it into perspective you're probably familiar with on seeing your last comments, child No.2 has been up at 0430 for the last few days and we stayed up until 23:45 watching it. Which was an error because the bugger was up at 0430 again and it was my shift!! Still worth it.

What an epic recovery but they need to take care of that discipline before the championship later this year.

Having this built over my deck for grilling and smoking cigars during bad weather. I'll have my gas grill and built-in griddle under it. It will vent out the top while still keeping water and snow out and itv will have a overhead grill light, ceiling fan and speakers. The price of materials is absolutely ridiculous, but it's been something I've wanted to do for quite awhile now.

I'll update when it's finished
