Popular Post JustDave Posted June 27, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 27, 2022 (newb so hopefully I'm doing this right) Paul Garmiriran's shop in McLean is pretty close to where I live and so I have very easy access to what they carry. I've always found them to be enjoyable and extremely well crafted, this was no exception. Details: DOMINICAN FILLER AND BINDER, CONNECTICUT SHADE WRAPPER Torpedo Rolled in 1999 purchased from PG cigars in Mclean, VA 6 1/4 x 52 First impression is light and mellow without hay that I sometimes get with a Connecticut wrapper. Start of the cigar and it is very mellow cream, light white pepper, little bit buttery, no coffee or cocoa i normally get with all that cream. None of the flavors are very powerful or aggressive. As I get to the end for the first third, some honey starts to come out, honey nut cheerieos kind of honey, so maybe some maltyness. Into the 2nd third, some more pepper, still very mild, nothing slapping you in the face. I keep noting that I get a really long finish but without a strong flavor at the same time, it just lingers pleasantly. Into the last third, still mellow but moving from mild to medium. Some toasted bread, really light coffee with a lot of cream in it. Interesting to have the coffee finally show up along with the cream at the end. Reminds me of how my wife has coffee where she just dumps more cream than coffee into it. The pepper is also moving from a white pepper at the start to a black bepper at the last third, but it's tiny bits of pepper at time but not strong. No real strong nicotine buzz or ashtray mouth feel after the fact. Additionally, I've always thought the construction of any PG cigar is outstanding. There was no need for a relight or any kind of uneven burning throughout the entire cigar. The draw was also easy throughout. Final thoughts, I really quite enjoyed this cigar but it wasn't something I'd be clamouring to try again. Everything was very nice but it didn't stand out. My only concern is the price at ~$20 for the cigar, so did I enjoy it 3x as much as the $7 cigar I smoked the next day, not really. Interesting to explore a 23+ year old cigar, but not going to be a daily occurrence for me. Thanks, Dave 8
