Popular Post MoeFOH Posted June 7, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 7, 2022 Upfront Disclaimer: Aussie-centric post... & fans of Rugby League abroad, of course - all 3 of you! I make this post as a New South Welshman sitting uncomfortably and without confidence in the heart of enemy territory. Two reasons for that: Billy Moore type Qld fanatics still rattle me. And I just don't think we have the best side in for G1. Qld's is better. The loss of our two most devastating assets is... well, devastating. Latrell and Turbo, who, let's face it, basically won the series for us last year on their own are huge outs. Wighton is a bad pick for me. I hope he proves me wrong. But I would have gone with Crichton to start (or even Talakai - I think he'd be an Origin wrecking ball) alongside Staggs, and Nicho Hynes off the bench as the utility. Dropping the Fox may come back to haunt us, too. His team are in poor form, is he though? Tonnes of experience and an open field destroyer... Hmmm... Not sure, Freddie. Plus I think Qld's aerial wingers will be a nightmare to contend with - Coates and Cobbo will be kick-targets all night. Little Brian To'o will do well to park a step ladder in the in-goal. The Giraffe may fare better... At least we have home ground advantage for G1. Imperative, as it almost always is, to win this first fixture. Doubly so in this instance. Anyhow, good luck to all... may Rugby League be the winner on the night. (And the Blues by 20-odd points.) 5

JohnS Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 It was a great game. The statistics suggests that is was very even. NSW committed some key errors trying to force the game, in my opinion. Cameron Munster was a big difference between the teams and helped win it for Queensland overall.
