El Presidente Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 The Year is flying by! What was your outstanding cigar of May 2022? That one cigar experience that just stood out above all others? That one cigar experience that if you closed your eyes.....you could almost taste. Your outstanding cigar of MAY 2022/past 30 days. 1
Popular Post Ford2112 Posted June 2, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2022 I smoked a 2019 Trinidad Fundadores 2 weeks ago with a couple friends. It was the cigar of the year so far for me. The company was great and to me that's what it's all about. The cigar was icing on the cake! But as for the cigar, it was just enjoyable from start to finish. One of those smokes you don't want to end. 13
Popular Post JohnS Posted June 2, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2022 I've had a great Cohiba Siglo VI, Trinidad Topes 2016 LE, La Flor de Cano Grandiosos 2013 RE, Partagas Serie D No.4 and a Quai d'Orsay Coronas Claro last month but the Partagas Lusitanias pictured above was slightly better than them all because it sustained its classiness over two hours. 22
Popular Post Lfhard Posted June 2, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2022 Tough call on that one. Had an amazing Cohiba Piramides TUA OCT 20 and an amazing Partagas Lusitanias EOL DIC 19. Both were amazing and makes me want to buy more boxes. Makes my mouth water thinking about them. 18
Popular Post Kaptain Karl Posted June 2, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2022 TRU JUL 19 Sir Winston. The box wasn’t smoking spectacular for the past few years but some extra rest did wonders! 20
Popular Post fisherclive Posted June 2, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2022 I smoked a '21 Cohiba Siglo II, it was heavenly. Wish I could find a box reasonably priced. The last of this 5er won't last long. 11
Popular Post Jonboy4074 Posted June 2, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2022 Gonna have to go with this Media Luna (SOU MAR 21). True Trinidad goodness through and through. Classy for such a young example. Cookies and cream, light honey, and a nutty base. Trinidads are just as unique a smoke as Cohiba imho. There is simply no substitute when that's what I'm craving. 21
Popular Post X-Man Posted June 2, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2022 Ramon Allones Imperiales from the Replica Antique Humidor Series circa 2013. Perfect construction, extremely aromatic, pleasant flavor, wish I got more in stock. 20
Popular Post gustavehenne Posted June 2, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2022 I had the most phenomenal Cohiba Lanceros (from memory, UAO MAR 18) - honey, grass, a touch of citrus and some cream. I thought I picked out some caramel but didn't want to steal Ken's thunder ... A guy approached me from a local cigar store and started talking to me about cigars and it was a great short chat. He mentioned it was a £130 stick to which I told him that I wouldn't pay that much for a Lanceros. These things are glorious but they aren't £130 glorious. 18
Popular Post cnov Posted June 2, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2022 This 2011 RyJ SC in our new home, a touch bittersweet as I made a huge error and sold all of my cigars after a very long hiatus a couple of years ago. I was left with a Monte No.4 that I thought I might as well smoke as it was left hanging around after everything else sold. I realised my huge error during the first third. When I first got into cigars I didn't really enjoy them that much, finding the slim pickings I bought lacking in flavour that I could see everyone else describing, most likely youth, on both the cigars and myself if I'm honest! Anyway, fast forward to just before moving home and I found tthe above SC in a tubo in a suit pocket. It must have been in there for a good 5+ years, surprisingly good condition, still supple and smelt great. Couple of weeks in the tupperdore, a relocation and finally smoked on the be patio while listening to the birds and looking out towards the sea, glorious. Eleven years changed the experience entirely, I'm not really that experienced as to be able to call out the nuances, but it was enjoyable to the nub with no rough edges at all. 20
Popular Post Chibearsv Posted June 2, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2022 2020 (I think) Connie A from last week. For me, it’s always a good start if I drag on it unlit for 15 minutes or more like I did with this one. I said I’d put it up against any cigar and I wasn’t kidding. It was perfection. 20
Popular Post westg Posted June 3, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 3, 2022 Poor man's Cohiba.....not really, just gorgeous. Choix Supreme 16
Popular Post Bill Hayes Posted June 3, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 3, 2022 Like how good the Nudie Carlota Maduro came along. This was my second last one. Edges slightly more rounded but still with nice intensity and not at all muted. Perfect cold weather cigar for me. Like the format and the Maduro goes well with stout and coffee. Cheers. Waiting for the next release. 12
Popular Post karp Posted June 3, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 3, 2022 This Connie 2 was surprisingly good… maybe even as good as the Connie A! 15
Popular Post LLC Posted June 3, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 3, 2022 Instead of my best cigar in May, I’m going with my best cigar day in May. May 8th. 16
Popular Post gormag38 Posted June 3, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 3, 2022 Mine was a toss up. Had two sticks that really stand out to me: SOU MAY 21 Siglo II was amazing, definitely a standout cigar in 21. (that price though.....😐) Second was a TUA ENE 21 QDOCC. Was my first stick out of the box and it more than lived up to the hype. (Posted a box pic as that's all I have) 12
Popular Post hrs1 Posted June 3, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 3, 2022 My best overall month in 2022 for cigars, so tough to pick just one. A CoLa, Punch DC & HdM DC were exceptional. But, Sir Winston (EOS OCT 18) took the top spot - cream, coffee, nuts, caramel/butterscotch with licorice notes ... almost like a cola or root beer as it progressed. Crazy to think that these will keep getting better 🤤 16
Popular Post Chas.Alpha Posted June 3, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 3, 2022 2019 ARS Fundadores. No time like the present. As far as the best cigar experience, that’s too easy! 😀 15
Popular Post El Presidente Posted June 6, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted June 6, 2022 H. Upmann Half Corona from 21. I haven't had one like it before as it integrated a host of charred sugarcane on the palate. Gorgeous. 96 point experience which was insane for a HUHC. I lit another up from the box the following day. 94 pointer. 11
Popular Post joeypots Posted June 6, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 6, 2022 Monte Cristo Double Edmundo, ULE MAY 15. I can’t keep my hands off of these. There are often a couple in a good box that are stellar and this one was the bomb. 5 stars all day long. 6
Popular Post KCCubano Posted June 6, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 6, 2022 D6 from 21. Flavor bombs. Too bad on current pricing for these. 5
Popular Post HopeUgood Posted June 6, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 6, 2022 Punch Punch REG JUL 18 I rarely smoke a cigar to the nub..... 9
Popular Post LocoM Posted June 6, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 6, 2022 Best of May (and the year so far), El Rey del Mundo CS from a LOS Mar 20 box. Trying hard to find some more! 6
Popular Post dshot Posted June 9, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 9, 2022 Best of May. Punch Punch '21 smoking lights out. After 90 days they have all been smoking perfectly lately. I think a few months ago @El Presidente mentioned them. Hopped on the bandwagon and wasn't disappointed. 5
