Popular Post El Presidente Posted June 2, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 2, 2022 US lifts Cuba flight restrictions imposed under Trump By Reuters https://edition.cnn.com/2022/06/01/americas/cuba-us-flights-intl/index.html Updated 0713 GMT (1513 HKT) June 2, 2022 Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the State Department in Washington, U.S., June 1, 2022. The administration of President Joe Biden on Wednesday revoked a series of restrictions on flights to Cuba imposed by his predecessor, including ending a prohibition on US airline flights to Cuban airports other than Havana. The US Transportation Department (USDOT) issued the order at the request of Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who said the action was "in support of the Cuban people, and in the foreign policy interests of the United States." The White House last month had signaled the planned move as part of a broader revision of policy toward Cuba. The flight restrictions have been lifted effective immediately. 4 3

grabow32 Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Fingers crossed they lift bringing cigars back into the states soon also! Although with the rule that the prices won't be different for Cohibas or Trinidads but maybe they will have some stock. Are the other brands price locked also or will the Island still be cheaper to buy them if they have any stock? It's "fun" looking at the 2019/2020 price list where a box of ten BHK 52's is 221 CUK and a Trinidad Colonials single is 6.60 haha.

Most of the cigars and pretty much all the rum that would be brought back are purchased directly from the government. Which we don't want. There are some that source most of their cigars through other channels, but not enough for this to make sense. Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE it if they did free things up again, but only selfishly. I don't think it's the right move from a broader perspective. 1

I suppose my reasons are selfish as well.
