Mark V. Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Hi FOH peeps!! I am looking for cigar suggestions. I am looking for sweeter smoking cigars to try. I do like cream, cocoa, chocolate 🍫 or fruit notes. Lighter earth, leather, wood notes. I have a couple El Rey Del Mundo Choix Supreme’s which I think are excellent but can’t find a box anywhere. Any other cigar recommendation’s would be greatly appreciated.
Popular Post NSXCIGAR Posted May 17, 2022 Popular Post Posted May 17, 2022 If you're looking for sweet San Cristobal is the king, particularly El Principe and La Fuerza. Molasses and syrup. Por Larranaga PC and Montecarlo have a bit of sweetness as well. Other cigars that might conform to your preferences are SLR Regios, Hoyo Epi de Luxe, Monte 3 and 4, RASS and Punch Punch. QdO Coronas also have some sweetness to me. 10 1
Hollywood Ninja Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Nice to know about Punch Punch. I have some down that I need to dig in on. The aged Punch DC I had last year was absolutely sublime. Easily one of the best cigars I’ve ever smoked. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

EnigmatiC Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 The first La Fuerza I smoked was the sweetest cigar I may have ever had. I immediately bought a box and not one was sweet lol. RASS have an incredible fruity sweetness to me that I love. 4

jhalischuk Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 The Upmann noellas are incredibly sweet to me. Very much a sweet bread type of taste, classic Upmann flavours just made sweeter. 4
Doctorossi Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 I'm surprised to find myself the first in this thread to mention the Romeo y Julieta marca. A touch of sweetness to be found there across the board, I would say. 1
HoyoFan Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 I would agree with La Fuerza and PLPC, RyJ. In general, I find that the sweetness comes with age across all of the marcas. 1
Popular Post RDB Posted May 17, 2022 Popular Post Posted May 17, 2022 This is the kind of thread that eventually name checks every possible marca and vitola. The reason is that there is no ‘tongue sweetness’ in the sense of detectable sugar in any cigar (unless it has been dipped in a solution containing sugar). So what we are talking about it aroma, scent, perfume… and what smells sweet is highly subjective. For example if you associate cocoa with sweetness (and it aint necessarily so) then Monte will taste sweet. Maybe you think of malt and liquorice as sweet? Then Bolivar. For me it would be really hard to identify any marca as distinctively sweet. 7
PSD4 Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 I smoked a HDM Epicure De Luxe a couple nights ago and it had some strong caramel notes mixed in with cocoa and what I deemed cinnamon notes. It had three years of age on it and previously I had not gotten these sweet notes from others in the box. 1

He won the blind taste comp, even though I tried desperately to steer him away from his obvious wrong guesses! 😀 Addendum: This 2020 Trini Reyes has a pleasantly sweet character 2
Frinkiac7 Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 This is my preferred flavor profile, too. ERDM Choix Supreme is one of my favorite cigars (haven't had one in years as I can't find them), and I love the ERDM marca flavor profile (again, hard to come by these days). In that camp I would rate Por Larranaga very similarly although with a bit less of the citrusy "twang" I so love in ERDM, but it does have similar floral and sweet notes for me. I also find HDM Epicure No. 1 has a similar sweet flavor for me but it runs more on the woody side than any of the citrusy-sweet flavors I would get from an ERDM. LGC is also more or less in that realm although I would say it's more on the floral side. Again, good luck finding those. Typing this made my mouth water, and made me sad that so many of my favorites are so hard to find these days! 1 1
RichG Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 The box of Media Luna I am smoking through now is pure cookie dough. 3 1
