I encourage everybody to ignore that request

Yeah - “Smoking these may lead to bankruptcy!”

Except for the fact that there are no Cohiba,Behike/Fundadores in Shanghai,Beijing,Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu.  If they were rolling around in boxes  of Behike etal, I would believe ha

Those Jabronies assured me that I have enough Cohiba and Trinidad to last me indefinitely. What a joke.

In T3 this weekend there was quite a bit of Partagas Series P, and MC Double Edmundo (12.35 Euro) and No 2's (12.60 Euro) in dress boxes. So the prices are somewhat the same. There was also quite a bit of No 2's in petacas of 15 Tubos. Only Cohiba I saw was Siglo I in petacas, the rest was mostly purito, mini and the like. John

PSP2, PSD4, Monte Edmundo and No.2, Cohiba Panetela, Mag 46, and some others at CDG duty-free. Didn’t pick up anything. Kinda regret not getting the D4. The Monte 2 were 385 euros a box I believe and the PSD4 309 euros.

I think those boxes need a few more warning stickers!😱

Are there any rumors of any new world brands like Davidoff trying to reposition themselves to an "ultra luxury" brand also? Is that too much to even think about right now? haha. I just am wondering as if you see any of their sticks via HK stores they also are 3 to 4 times the price of here in the US.

Already more expensive than Cohiba here in Japan. Their cigars are not cheap in US as well but even the pipe tobacco cost extremely high.

That is interesting to know. I guess I'm luck here! The local B&M's near me have them for at or slightly less than what is advertised on the Davidoff of Geneva website. For example the Escurio Petite Robusto which I love are a little less than $10 USD per cigar. The Nicaragua Toro's are about $17.

I don't see the romance in people working at rolling cigars for pennies, turning out shit... so that a government can make millions off the shit...

In my mind, this is really what's happening. It has nothing to do with making Cohiba or any other Habanos a "luxury brand." It has everything to do with the Communist greed heads doing what they always do: confiscating every dollar they can on the way out the door to pad their exile accounts. They can see that what remains of the party in Cuba is in shambles. It's a pre-exile cash grab.

The last party members on the ground will be dragged out into the streets and given the full Ceaușescu.

CA just posted the article online.

The one dominant word; LUXURY

$100 per stick for large format COHIBAS.

To all those with "baller" bank accounts, Enjoy!

Likely to go higher,  as supply tightens!

Agreed although I won’t be partaking at those prices. I just can’t justify burning $129 for a Gran Panatela or frankly, any other cigar. Would just take the enjoyment out of it for me.

Luckily I’ve got a fairly healthy Cohiba collection so I’ll sit back and hope that someone will end the madness and until then, won’t be buying anything at those prices

My regular online B&M just had one of their regular deep discount sales for members and Davidoffs were conspicuously the only brand made ineligible. This is new.

Davidoff have been in short supply lately. They already make a $100 and a $500 cigar, and both are consistently available online at discounts. They’ve announced price increases in line with inflation for this year.

About as reliable numbers as Rob when he tells you he's off the booze. I wonder how the revenue relates to profits this year considering no workers and lower variable costs due to lower manufacturing.

This too shall pass.......markets will decide prices. tastes and market share might shift....this website might be friendsofecuadoreans or friendsofesteli one day. who knows?? The only thing constant is change. Theres more than a few marcas I will be disappointed about but there will be other countries and brands that will come in to satisfy the needs of the market. I love cuban cigars.... but not only cuban cigars. Paraphrasing el Presidente earlier in the thread, Chill! Lets see how this plays out.
