Popular Post BG318 Posted September 5, 2024 Popular Post Posted September 5, 2024 Recent trip to New Orleans. I visited the 5 Grande Dames of the area - Galatoires, Antoines, Arnauds, Commanders Palace and Brennan's. The world has changed a lot in the past few years and I wanted to see them all while they were still around. I may never eat again...The best dish I had, though, was from Cochon Butcher. Le Pig Mac- house made sausage in a recreated McDonald's classic. Don't know how I managed to stuff it down between Brennan's and Commanders but I did. I can't stop thinking about it... 10
Popular Post westg Posted September 5, 2024 Popular Post Posted September 5, 2024 Some sort of flaming prawn dish. Grilled octopus with cucumber dressing was actually very good. Ice cold Tiger beer, bloody brilliant. 11
Popular Post westg Posted September 8, 2024 Popular Post Posted September 8, 2024 It does not look much and their is not much to it. I absolutely nailed this dish. Glacier 51 tooth fish and sesame seaweed salad. Expensive at a $150 a KG in Aus. Worth it indeed. A big hit with friends. I can honestly say food, when it is this good has an euphoric effect. Constantly drizzled with gee and a sprinking of salt. Gorgeous. Total preparation and cook time...10 mins tops. 14

Pork belly ramen with soy marinated egg, sautéed baby shiitake mushrooms and crunchy bean sprouts! *ignore the coffee stains on the table 9
Popular Post westg Posted November 16, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 16, 2024 The bomb 🍄 risotto and poached chicken literally a 5 min walk from me. Never gave the little French place a chance. My partner's daughter and her friends dragged me in. Four 18 year old girls, a few bottles of red could've sworn I was in a chicken farm. Non stop. 8
Popular Post JoeyBones777 Posted November 16, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 16, 2024 I've been working on making the cleanest version possible of pepperoni pizza. Sourdough crust made with organic heritage flour fermented for 48 hours with honey instead of sugar, all organic tomato sauce with maple syrup instead of sugar, grass fed buffalo mozzarella, grass fed raw provolone, grass fed raw truffle gouda, raw parmeggiano reggiano, raw pecorino Romano, grass fed pasture raised beef and pork uncured pepperoni. Zero flop, crunchy, light, slightly chewy and very flavorful! 12

Popular Post Greenhorn2 Posted December 3, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 3, 2024 All these dishes were excellent, but the prawn stuffed grouper and lobster mac and cheese was topped by the jerk ribs and chicken from a lolo in Marigot. Good Lort those ribs would make you bite ya granny! 8

Popular Post El Presidente Posted December 4, 2024 Author Popular Post Posted December 4, 2024 Caught up with old mate yesterday over a Siglo VI and then dinner at my favourite restaurant Moda. Sat at the kitchen bar and chef Javier just brought out what he liked. Standouts were tuna in passionfruit sauce, pipies in a lemon wine garlic sauce and a T-bone to die for. 16 1

Popular Post SenorT Posted December 20, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 20, 2024 Cumin flavored lamb at Sahbi Sahbi in Marrakech wins for me. But the merguez and beef skewers at a locals cafe near the Jemaa al Fna a close second (both ended up being too much food). 12

Popular Post SigmundChurchill Posted December 30, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 30, 2024 My son, the amateur chef, wanted to try a Michelin Star restaurant, so I took him to After Seven, in Zermatt last night. They did some really cool presentations, and the food was amazing. Matterhorn Butter They baked this bread from scratch at our table. 15
