The cigar lounge where I smoke all the time is just up the street from there. Our US office is in the area and I was able to walk to the restaurant from my hotel. I wasn’t aware of the cigar lounge being so close. I may have to check it out. It would be great to meet up if the timing worked during one of my visits. 1

I wish I took pictures of it. Absolutely amazing burger. The rib-eye steak was out of this world. And the fish was really good too. Jealous. It's always a treat when they have the steaks from Ralph's own ranch on the menu! 1
Popular Post ha_banos Posted July 29, 2023 Popular Post Posted July 29, 2023 Not long back from holiday on Ikaria. Proper lamb chops that are too big for the plate and Katsikaki Giouvesti (stewed goat) that I had too many times ☺️ Love Taverna food! Look at those lamb chops. What we buy here is cut way down, criminal! 15

Other than the fantastic food, the atmosphere and decor there creates an incredible vibe. Which, I guess is his specialty. Loved everything, right down to the little polo mallets in the drinks. 1
Popular Post LLC Posted July 30, 2023 Popular Post Posted July 30, 2023 This may be my new go to for salmon. Simple EVOO, salt and pepper. Done on a smoking hot smooth griddle. It was ridiculously good. 18

Last week went back to that Malaysian restaurant to try their wat tan hor and mee goreng (plus get some char kway teow). Probably the most authentic mee goreng I have had outside of Malaysia. And the egg gravy for the wat tan hor was exceptional. Fuzz going to Bali in September so looking forward to eating heaps of traditional food

Suggest you download the Grab app on your phone. It is Malaysia's version of Uber, that has spread throughout South East Asia. 1

How many times have you been there? I have run into him out in East Hampton, where he has 3 different stores on that one little block of Main St. Well, actually 4 if you count Dylan's Candy Bar. I think he lives in Montauk. Seems like a nice guy, but his wife, not so much. 1
dominattorney Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 I realize today that I well and truly screwed up not taking a pic yesterday but I sous vided and seared a 3.5 inch thick tomahawk ribeye and made a lovely chimi to accompany yesterday. Divine. 1

Can't speak to the man or his wife's character but I do love the brand, what a genius! 1

Popular Post X-Man Posted August 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2023 Dear wife took me to dinner at Ultraviolet by Paul Pairet to celebrate my belated 53rd birthday. https://uvbypp.cc/ There was a 15 minute intermission, where they served cognac/cigar/coffee look alike taste buds cleanser, before we continue our second half of the dinner. The tea cup is edible, sorbet jello like. The Cola Beijing Duck taste like candy Finally, 4 course desserts to complete the evening. Not a best dish but a best meal I had, as this was my first ever immersive dining experience. 21

They had a green icecream called "taste of the sea". we asked the girl behind the counter Us: "What's this one like?" Girl: "It's f**kin MinnnnnnnGin!" (UK slang for disgusting). Anyway we took a punt of the 16yr old till girl not necessarily having the best taste, and ordering it anyway. It was wonderful. It was kelp green, slight sort of earthy matcha flavour to it, with a touch of seasalt in the background. 4 1

ha_banos Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Steak day yesterday. Only my second time in many, many years - went to a Gauchos in London. Had a med rare ribeye 400g £43.50. Wet aged. Well cooked. Bland. We had to throw way too much salt on them. Not going back. 1 4
Ken Gargett Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 I can't load photos were I am but last night, shaved baby reindeer heart with tar ice cream (and yes, tar like is used on roads). it was just an amuse bouche - but it was sensational. 2 1
