jakebarnes Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 @PigFish still have a few sticks left of the SdC #1 in my coolidor. The best. 1

Popular Post El Presidente Posted February 24, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted February 24, 2022 I was a fan of the Romeo y Julieta Celestiales Fino.........when they were rolled well You don't see many around but when you do they go for a pretty penny. One of the best bang-for-the-bucks out there as I recall them being $100/box +/- and just glad we have some extra time together. Cheers! 1
Popular Post El Presidente Posted February 24, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted February 24, 2022 dead set you couldn't give these away. Today, mega moola. What a fantastic cigar. The world needs more Churchills! 12 1

I was never able to grab a 50 cab, but I still have parts of three dress boxes. I enjoy the Royal Coronas, I've had good luck with the 10 count Tubos. They aren't quite the same though.
SMELTZ Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Oh man my favorite cigar of all time, buying up LIbertadores just to get close to those.

Bill Hayes Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 Not sure how popular Punch DC were, but a mate scored an aged box about 5 or 6 years ago. They were top notch. Not sure whether they'd be past their window yet?

avaldes Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 IMO you can pretty much name any discontinued cigar and it was interesting. I think they pruned the lines of the really unique cigars to put more focus on mainline moneymakers. My personal favorite discontinued: - Partagas selection privada #1/Churchills - Upmann Super Coronas - Bolivar Lonsdales/PC cab/Coronas/CE/CG - RA 898/898V/Coronas/PC - Hoyo Churchills/Dauphines/Short Hoyo Coronas - Punch Churchills/SS#1/SS#2 And again, in limited production today: - Hoyo DC - Punch DC - Upmann SW - Partagas 898V - Cohiba Siglo V Every cigar on that list has some real character that you just don't get in today's lineup. PS- I bet every cigar on that list sat on Rob's shelves. 2 1

They hung around in my humidor (I had 50 or so of these) until 2013 where I discounted out the last of them. They were excellent cigars. Shoot me now. $6K USD + today Think I paid 600.00. Long gone now! They were not popular at the time.
Popular Post joeypots Posted February 25, 2022 Popular Post Posted February 25, 2022 I used to get the ERDM PCs in a 50 cab from Cyprus. Inexpensive with some solid box age on them they were a go to for quite a few years. The Tianos not so much. 6
Popular Post Jack Posted February 25, 2022 Popular Post Posted February 25, 2022 Yes, the Punch Black Prince. Still have a few left. It's almost criminal how cheap they were at the time. When you have more than one Prince of Wales 5
Trailryder Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 I stepped away from cigars sometime around 2010. As a financially challenged young man with a burgeoning family, I made the choice to better allocate my money. When I resumed this hobby several years ago it was much to my chagrin the Diplomatico No 4's were discontinued. I loved that cigar and while I like the No 2 I much prefer smaller ring gauge cigars. Oh, to have them back again.

The LCDH had stacks and stacks of them. It was always a bit too light for me but it was among the first CCs I ever smoked. Very popular in cello. All over the vintage market in the 2000s. Unfortunately, I never had one. I was very, very happy with the Ex 4. Although I do love Britanicas. Would love to see them back as well.

The world needs more Churchills! How many cigar smokers in 2022 would seriously consider this large format? Just keep in perspective that members on this forum are not representative of the "whole" of the world's cigar smoking population. Heck, any cigar with a smoking duration of over 60 minutes loses my interest very quickly. I certainly am not in the minority. 1
