Tonight I’m smoking a Tatuaje Victorias. It’s part of their Havana VI line, also known as Red Label. This size is a Coronas Especial - 6 x 38. It’s one of my favorite sizes. The wrapper is a milk chocolate color, but a little rough. The triple cap looks decently applied, and there’s a little pigtail on the top.

The aroma from the foot is coffee, spice, and cream. The cold draw is pepper and coffee - not surprising for this brand. The feel in the hand is a touch loose. It lights up fine, though.

The first third kicks off with a shot of pepper, as many Pepin Garcia / Pete Johnson cigars will do. Underneath is a pretzel bread note which is just fantastic, and which quickly overpowers the pepper (this is definitely for the best). There is also a touch of earth and leather. The retro is a cinnamon spice flavor.

The middle third is all sweet spice at first; pepper, cinnamon, sugar, nutmeg, maybe cherry. After a time I pick up mocha coffee too. The retro at this point is leather and cream.

The final portion keeps the sweet spice, and adds leather and cream. The cherry note is much more pronounced at the end. The construction was decent. It was a bit loose, but it burned pretty well considering. I ended smoking a little faster than I prefer, in order to keep it lit. It never turned hot or bitter, but it wasn’t exactly comfortable if you know what I mean.

Overall, it was a decent cigar on an unseasonably warm Wednesday night. The flavors were very good, especially the middle portion. The construction wasn’t great. All in all nothing to write home about, but certainly enjoyable enough to pass the time with. I’ve smoked plenty of these in the past, and I’ll smoke plenty more in the future I’m sure.

Total Smoking Time: 58 minutes

Score: 87/100

Are these short or mixed filler Tats?  I thought I read somewhere they were.

I remember quite enjoying them at one time.  Thanks for the review.

No, these are long filler. There’s a short filler tat brand called series p, if I remember the name right. These are much better quality.

You are absolutely correct, white lables red lettering so a reverse of the Havan VI or Red label.  Thanks for keeping me on the curb instead of wandering out in traffic again :)  Was a pretty darn good smoke for a short filler to my memory.  Sloppy ash but at my age all ashes start getting sloppy.

Haha I ended up with a pile of ash down my sleeve last night. Scared the hell out of me for a minute there when I felt my wrist burning - “oh crap, did I just set myself on fire?”

The Series P aren’t too bad for short filler. I’d smoke them more often if the sizes were more in my wheelhouse. I usually tend to end up going back to Fuentes curly heads over and over for my cheap short filler cigars.
