Popular Post wine_junkie Posted February 13, 2022 Popular Post Posted February 13, 2022 Quick synopsis of the Lancero Colorado: Beautiful smoke. Rich graham cracker/spice cake leading into a dense (low tone) pepper type flavor with a touch of cream. Showing a touch of youthful brashness but overall one helluva smoke. Thank you! 11
Popular Post Don Candido Posted February 13, 2022 Popular Post Posted February 13, 2022 My introduction to Nudies, I received them 4 days ago ( a bundle of each). I am no good at letting cigars rest. I am always too anxious to try new ones. Most cigars change and get better with rest, no doubt. If you smoke them on arrival and keep in touch with them, it becomes interesting to see the vast differences in tobacco as it rests and further ages. I don't really review cigars - I've been a lurker for a decade, but Rob asked me to say something after I wrote to him. The day after I received them, I lit up a Rosado Lanceros. It absolutely knocked my socks off! The subject of my email to Rob was "Are you kidding me?" I went on to sing the praises of the smoke, which showed as good as any cigar on arrival has. But this was a reference Laguito No.1, not simply a cigar which showed well - construction, feel, aroma cold and lit, quality of the burn and the smoke, the focused, enticing flavor. It smoked so easily. I almost burned my fingers as I naturally smoked it to the smallest nub, which only happens with smokes I really enjoy. I find no rhyme or reason to which cigars smoke and show well on receipt (obviously a good reason why many people won't light up smokes before they rest). Each day since receipt, I have had one more Nudie, finishing up with the fourth this morning, a Maduro Carlotas. The Maduro Lanceros I had two days ago, while built just as beautifully as the first, was closed up and not showing well. Same with the Rosado Carlotas I had yesterday. I was resigned to the idea the first Lanceros showing well was a fluke, but today, as I am finishing it, I am really enjoying this maduro Carlotas. It is not as glorious as the first Lanceros was yet, but very good. These will all be better soon. I'd guess it is probably safe to wait a month, if you like to let them rest before smoking. I simply can't do that... I won't talk about the berries and spices I taste - I am not good at that, but bottom line. I smoke very little notn-Cuban and am no expert on what is out there. I will say I had a few recent production Cohiba Lanceros and the Colorado Rosado Nudies N1 Lanceros, while not the same animal, showed better in most every way. One reason I contacted Rob was to check if these were really sold out. To me, they are so good, now that each is open, my bundles will get smoked without a chance to age. I want to put some away and try them again in a few years. I was glad to hear another run is around the corner. These deserve space in the humidor! They don't need my endorsement, but in case it wasn't clear, I wouldn't miss a chance to try them. Hats off to Rob and Hamlet! 'nuff said. 15 4

The plan is to have another production run of both Lancero/Carlota within the next 4-5 weeks. I will make sure there will be plenty for everyone. I think they are great everyday cigars with a "vibrant personality" You shouldn't have to spend a forutne on an excellent smoke. That is music to my, and assuredly many others', ears. I could definitely see myself making these a daily. I'm already reaching for them with no restraint. 2

I will put the remaining Carlota up on Friday. i intend to keep a few for myself to tide me over. 7
Popular Post SRH1 Posted February 14, 2022 Popular Post Posted February 14, 2022 Smoked three Maddie lancero’s (yes, 3 already..) and wow! Just a wonderful cigar from start to finish. I smoke very few NC’s these days but Rob and Hamlet’s naked lovelies are already in the regular rotation and are, perhaps the most enjoyable NC I’ve smoked. (I started with NC’s, lots of em 35 years ago but drifted away as my taste became more sophisticated.) Wonderful flavors as already well described by others (so I won’t be redundant) with a razor sharp burn and perfect draw! I do believe your objectives have been achieved gentlemen and team!👍👍 And they can only improve… Allowing the Colorado’s lancero bundle to rest a bit before firing one up. Expectations are high. 😎 Quite please to learn of the second release. 7

Sean62 Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 I am fairly new to the cigar world. Thirty six years ago I smoked Royal Jamaica Buccaneeers regularly for a year and really enjoyed them but when I quit cigarettes back then I quit the cigars too. Two years ago I was gifted a Cohiba Siglo 1 and became very interested. Since then I have been sampling many cigars, mostly Cuban. I had doubts about he 'Nudies' but ordered some Maduro Carlotas. I just smoked one, a day after receiving them, and was delightfully surprised. I love the feel of this cigar and the consistent burn. No harshness at all. Mild-Medium strength and a seemingly consistent flavour all the way through (which I don't find with many of my quality favourites with a good reputation). This was a very easy cigar to smoke; not labour intensive like some good Cubans; a very relaxing experience. I suspect this cigar will be a regular for me, an every-day, one of my reliable favourites. The size seems unique, is intriguing and feels very good. I would like to know which other Cubans would be recommended as similar in size and feel and quality. The price seems right for the experience I had this evening. Because of the consistent feedback thus far from others about the quality (construction, burn, flavour) my guess is that a standard has been set that will likely be maintained. Thanks to FOH and Hamlet for the vision and the actual successful development of this new non-Cuban brand 4

Not this time, 4 bundles for me which I hope will last a year as weekend morning smokes. Stock up, you won’t regret it. 3

griller Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 (edited) Came home yesterday to find my bundle of rosado Carlotas awaiting me!!! Felt like a kid in a candy store, and am going to do my level best to let them rest. Pretty sure that won't happen, but they're in my 'dor now adjusting to their new home. Thanks for making this happen, FoH! Grateful for the opportunity. Edited February 16, 2022 by griller can't spell 2
Boxer31 Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 Hear my bundle came while we are on vac otherwise would have brought 1 or 2 with me. Here’s hoping my neighbor doesn’t dig in before me 😂 2
Popular Post Zaxeiler Posted February 17, 2022 Popular Post Posted February 17, 2022 Received my N3 Carlotas - ebony and ivory pack. FOH Nudies N3 Maduro (Carlotta 6 x 38, 2021, ~60 minutes, ROTT 2/16/22) - Light aroma, little musty barnyard. Sweet cherry fermented tobacco on the cold draw. Young and brash on lite up (little ashy) but a core of bread and chocolate. After settling, it’s a substantial and chewy smoke - best described as a dark chocolate biscuit. No sweetness for me, and no cream at this point. But rich like a hefty cracker (like those breakfast biscuits). The middle third has a little less bread/biscuit, a hint of cream and sweetness - but a little of that fake sweetener taste that shows in cigars sometimes that I don’t love. The back third had a vague savory note mixed in, and a touch of black pepper as it warmed up. Had a small knot that plugged the draw a bit. Perfect draw, great smoke output, even burn, strong ash for its thin ring gauge. Very smooth smoke. 14
Popular Post Bijan Posted February 17, 2022 Popular Post Posted February 17, 2022 Smoking a colorado N3 right now ROTT. I've smoked a lot of cigars ROTT the past 2 weeks (all CCs except this nudie and an Opus X). This definitely has the best burn and construction. But there's a bit more bite and harshness than was in the others. I think some time down will do some good. As the few OG nudies I have are smoking smoother now. 13
Popular Post Lomey Posted February 17, 2022 Popular Post Posted February 17, 2022 Arrived Tuesday! They will rest until we head to Key West at the end of April. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk 10
Popular Post porkchop Posted February 17, 2022 Popular Post Posted February 17, 2022 Split this order with a couple buddies. All four look great - the Rosado Lancero really shines. Going to give them the 30 days. 9

Popular Post Shrimpchips Posted February 18, 2022 Popular Post Posted February 18, 2022 Smoked a N3 Carlota maduro ROTT tonight as a 5er of each rosado and maduro reached my door thanks to a split organized by @saltbox. Cigar had impeccable construction; burn line was razor sharp and ash held in 1.5” sections despite it being windy as hell out. Flavor was as advertised, a dry dark cacao, with a hint of creaminess, and a bit of savory coming out here and there. Very satisfying 75 minute smoke for me, and I can tell with a bit of time down they should improve some more. Excited for warmer weather to take the Lanceros out for a spin. 14
RedLantern Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 I'll admit I was running on too little sleep, became too excited and careless when they arrived! I accidentally sliced one of my rosado n3 wrappers when opening the package! As luck would have it we were having a brief sun-break here in dark and soggy PNW winter so I figured I would pop outside and give the wounded stick a taste. Maybe it's just that I've been tobacco starved as I don't typically smoke during wet season but I thought it was GREAT. Much different than other NC I have smoked and I didn't notice any harshness or off flavors, even being ROTT. I'm in love with the size as well! 3
Popular Post Don Candido Posted February 18, 2022 Popular Post Posted February 18, 2022 Great photo PorkChop! These are really beautiful cigars. I don't think I can stop smoking Nudies. I am not advocating jumping the gun on lighting them up if you like to rest your smokes and I know they have a ways to improve from rest, but these arrived a week ago and are already becoming a favorite. They are *so* easy to smoke. Yesterday, my second Rosado Carlotas was much more ready to smoke than the first I had. I think Nudies will be a regular smoke for me. (I can see why it is for Rob - he isn't selling when he says he has them everyday - these truly are a perfect everyday smoke) So.... I bought more Rosado yesterday... I smoked a Maduro Carlotas this morning and had the same reaction. I bought more Maduro today... I don't know their inventory, but it looks like the Rosados are sold out. A few minuites ago, there were Maduro Carlotas available still. Good luck! 😉 5

You know the quality of the roll, burn, etc is going to be fantastic. But it's still non Cuban tobacco. Bite and harshness that a ROTT Cuban may not exhibit. But top notch quality and roll, which is to be expected from the Nudies. If downtime smoothens out the bite and harshness, which it generally does, you have the best of both worlds! 2
