El Presidente Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 I saw this one up on BR at the moment. It took me back somewhat as they were my cheap and cheerful of choice back in the day. I love the box artwork of Troya. Troya Corona Club 3
NSXCIGAR Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 They still make 'em. A once respected premium brand reduced to Guantanamera status. 1
benfica_77 Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 I wonder if this is a popular brand of cigars in Italy lolll

RDB Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 Do they put them in tubes to spare the poor cigars from funny looks?
Toast & Taste Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 In Italian, the word also has a very derogatory meaning when used as slang. Big Al 2

Mama Mia !!! benfica_77 was thinking about the word "troia" (spelled with an I instead of a Y) which means whore in Italian. Also FIY it's Mamma Mia. Double M. 2

Haven't seen them available online in forever. But apparently they're still available in Cuba. (To be fair I haven't really been looking that hard 😂).

(To be fair I haven't really been looking that hard 😂). You are not missing a thing. I picked up a 5 pack of the tubes on my way back through Jose Marti, T3 a few years ago. They where the most metallic tasting cigars I have ever smoked, despite the tubes being plastic now. Like smoking a penny, it was wild. Construction and smoke output where great for a short filler, but the flavor was pure metal. Nasty, Nasty. 1 1
Ryan Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 The Troya Coronas Club and the Belinda Coronas are still sometimes available in Cuba. I haven't looked for them in a while. Somebody gave me a Troya a few years ago, I can't remember what I did with it. Nice packaging. And very nice bands on both, especially the Troyas. I took this in the humidor in the Nacional. Quite a few years ago now though. 2010. I have seen both more recently. I can't remember the last time I saw the Belindas. 3

Yes, and I recall seeing them and some Belinda in the airports in Mexico City and Havana a few years ago. No urge to try any.
Huckleberry Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 I have often heard many describe our hobby as the "smoking of fat turds." Not until I saw that cigar on the right hand above did I have a slight understanding of what they meant by it. That is one fugly cigar. 2
cigcars Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 *But is it made from tobacco in the Vuelta Abajo or the Vuelta Arriba?
