Is there any way to get to the post/text box without scrolling all the way to the bottom, particularly for the picture heavy threads?

You mean getting to the "Reply" section? There is a green "Reply to this topic" button at the top of the post. Or do you mean from the middle of the thread?

Ah, no dice. I just turn off the friction setting on my scroll wheel and let it fly.

The forum automatically truncates large images/posts... that's the best it presently offers as assistance here. 

Otherwise, yep, what Fuzz said.

Also at least on the web version there are only 20 or 25 posts per page before the page gets split into multiple parts.
