I am in at the Kickstarter signed edition but have been considering the Collectors Edition. My concern is the linen bound book. Will this stain with cigar smoke?I have good ventilation but everytime I repaint in my room, you can see the paint is stained slightly by cigar smoke. Any comments? 

The cigar smoke stain will only add to the character of the book, IMO. Just don’t eat a peanut butter & jelly sandwich while you’re thumbing through the pages ;-)

Hey everybody, just wanted to say a huge thanks to everybody who has ordered - the level of support has been fantastic.

The Kickstarter pre-order will end tomorrow. Obviously we are well passed all our basic goals, so this project will definitely happen. I expect to be sending the final draft to the printers sometime in the next few weeks.

Obviously I am a bit biased, but I have read a lot of cigar books, and I am pretty proud of this one which I think will add a fair bit to the knowledge pool for the Cuban cigar community.

Just for anybody still thinking of ordering: the amount that goes to print will be the amount that has been pre-ordered, plus a few extra that will be sold on the publisher's website afterward. So there will be some opportunity to get this after the Kickstarter, but obviously it's a pretty niche subject and the publisher won't want to take a lot of risk, so the number of extra books that gets printed will be fairly limited, and they will be more expensive than they are at present. So if this book is something you think you want, then I encourage you do order it now.

Exactly 1 week ago, I got an email with the link confirming my order.  I did all the required stuff it asked for, and got an email confirmation.

Today, I got the same exact email.  I repeated the process, thinking it must have not gone through last week, and I got another email confirmation.

After some thought, I decided maybe I should come on here just to make sure I do not end up with 2 orders.  For the sake of clarity, I only want 1 order.

I also had the same issue. I also had to pay a tiny shipping surcharge on the second order. But I remembered Alex's email between these two that said there had been some issues and extra charges for shipping and they would be ironed out before items/orders were finalized and shipped.

I just did an email search.  That email does not come up.

We've heard from some backers that the BackerKit survey has been adding duplicate
shipping charges for add-on items purchased during the Kickstarter campaign. We are
working with BackerKit to resolve this issue, and wanted to reassure you that it
will be fully resolved before any charges are processed through BackerKit. 

Charges through BackerKit are not processed until we "lock" the orders, which will
likely be sometime around the end of April in this case, meaning that you can submit
your survey now if you want, and any extraneous shipping charges will be removed
before the payments are processed. To be clear, no one has yet been charged for
anything via BackerKit. If you prefer, you can wait to submit your survey until
after we have confirmed that the issue has been fully resolved, which we anticipate
being early next week. 

Please note that you will not be charged any additional shipping fees for items
ordered during the Kickstarter campaign, as these have already been paid for. There
will, however, be additional shipping charges attached to any items added via
BackerKit. 

We apologise for the confusion and any concern this issue has caused you and thank
you for your patience while it is being resolved.

Thanks @Bijan, I was just about to post it too! Yes, Alex provided an update last week to clear up this confusion caused by BackerKit. I don't think anyone will be charged more for shipping or charged twice. I have no doubt too that @ATGroom will confirm all this when the next time he peruses our forum.

For what it’s worth my first email showed a $1 charge. Then this second email showed $0 charge. I figured this was possibly a correction to the original email.

Don’t feel bad. I had a new $240 charge on my card this morning! I had to get thru 2 diet Coke’s before I remembered I got the Reyes last night! 😂
