Popular Post sr21 Posted January 7, 2022 Popular Post Posted January 7, 2022 I'll do my best to remember my notes from last night, but I enjoyed an Epicure No 2 paired with more Larceny BP than I probably should've had for a Wednesday night. Not my fault though ;). The Warrior's have been frustrating to watch with Curry's unpredictable showings. But NBA commentary for another day! Lit the cigar right around halftime and this thing was built like a tank. It had no give at all and I was worried it was going to be packed too tight. Thankfully the draw was just right after it got going. I'm not sure if it's just this box or not but the first third for the handful I've smoked out of it have not been the most enjoyable. Perhaps they are still a little too young as the taste is a little off and fighting with the profile of where the cigar will be in another year or two. Construction and burn was everything you could hope for. Moving to the second third the smooth creaminess I had been looking for started to be more pronounced with the metallic youth flavors fading away. The stick had also warmed up more at this point as well. It was starting to relax, as was I as the Warriors had came back from a pretty hefty deficit to tie the game. I'm not sure if my focus had turned more towards the bourbon at this point but the Epi No 2 did require a quick relight or two to keep it burning consistently. The final third was more of the same flavor, but really peaking at this point with less tobacco to pull the smoke through. The warm smoke had a great mouthfeel to offset the cold barrel proof bourbon. I took the bands off and watched the Warriors throw away another game they could've won. I finished the cigar a little past the last picture. Will probably try to hold off on these at least another 6 months before going back to the box but have high hopes for them. I'm still working on my pallet to try and pull out some of the flavor nuances but all in all a very smooth and enjoyable smoke. Cheers all! 10
