So after 26 years in our Georgia home we picked up and moved to Florida.

I've moved more than a few times in my life. Growing up an Army brat it was every 1-3 years from birth through high school.

Following that, 6 years in Colorado and then 14 years in Virginia. The 26 in Georgia and now on to our new and hopefully final move.

Packed up 7 tons of crap and left a couple behind back in August.

Five months in and we are finally getting settled. Just had the last of the tradesmen complete the painting, landscaping, rearranging and all that so Kelly feels she can relax, brutal....

Anyway, felt it was time to kick back and relax a little myself.

Pulled out the David Tang Upmann Monarch from 2002 graciously gifted by Wilkey @Ginseng many years back.

Perfectly paired with a quaff of Abandonado Extra Anejo Tequila. Truly one of the best expressions I've experienced.

The biscuit, woody and earthy notes from the cigar paired quite well with the smoky, sweet and piquant notes of the tequila.

As I sit here enjoying the time to finally chill, I can't think of a better combination of smoke, drink, home and atmosphere at the beach.

It has been a rough road the past 5 months but now it's behind us and looking ahead.

Never moving again!!!

Never, say never again! :P

And why aren't you cooking some snacks over that flame?

I could not agree more with this post - I hate moving!  I'm in my 4th place in 2 years.  It's been a combination of downsizing, rightsizing and a promotion to a new city.  Hopefully I'll be in my current place for a bit!

You sure you don’t want to move to Minnesota where it is currently-7°F (-21°C)?

I thought Idaho was cold.....

Welcome to Florida!  Sorry about the hassle of the move - it really sucks.  We moved 15 times during my working career.  Retired to Stuart, Florida and never plan to move again.  My favorite joke is that my wife and the pool boy can deal with the home when I'm dead.  If you're ever in the area PM and me and we'll get together for a smoke!  Good luck in the new place.

Thanks and will do. It's about a 3 hour run though expect we may find our way down to south Florida one of these days.

That’s when it’s so cold that the snow squeaks under your boots!

Skol... 😔

I think we'll pass. Besides, all your neighbors are ours now....

Moved six months ago after 20 years in the old house. Amazing how much junk is collected and thrown out or given away.
Six months in the new house and finally feeling settled.
Congratulations on the move. Sounds like a very good change.

You know what after throwing out or giving away all the 20+ years worth of accumulated stuff means? Time to start buying stuff to fill the new house again!! :P

My last move will be to my grave! Moving is awful experience.

You're really gonna have to de-clutter if that's the case! :P

Yeah, sounds like similar experiences. Moved to Victoria after 36 years in the same house. Amazed and disturbed about how many paper files in particular I accumulated--and had to shred and recycle over many weeks. Plus other stuff. Not to mention cleaning the house and deciding what to take, set up again in the new place, etc., etc. Staying put.
