Looks to me like a paper-backed foil with the metallic finish pealing off the paper backing... Interested in others' perceptions and experience on this

Looks to me like a paper-backed foil with the metallic finish pealing off the paper backing... Interested in others' perceptions and experience on this Up until 1970s foil wrapped cigars had a layer of tissue, then a layer of pure metal foil on the outside. Ie, when you remove the foil, you then have a tissue wrapped cigar, and you have to remove the tissue before you can smoke it. As opposed to what we have today which is aluminised paper and comes off all at once. So I'd say what has happened is the metal is decaying and the paper is exposed. Have never seen anything like that happen before. On that basis the paper actually looks very clean and fresh, would expect it to be stained with the oils from the cigar or by whatever process the metal is going through. Definitely a weird one. 3 2
