HuffnPuffff Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 23 adults plus some kids and a magician jammed into a Hong Komg apartment. Turkey, ham and prime rib, with champagne and pinotage to wash it down with. Should be fun! Lots to be thankful forSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 3
BrightonCorgi Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 Some interesting foods and plans noted here for Thanksgiving. I grew up 25 miles from Plymouth Rock (where the pilgrims landed) and went to school with several pilgrim descendants. If it's not a near depiction of Norman Rockwell's Thanksgiving (also a Masshole); it seems like a non-traditional day to me.

Years ago I did some research on the original Thanksgiving and found that seafood was prominent which makes sense based on the proximity to the ocean. I made paella that year and it was a huge hit. Not quite Norman Rockwell though. 😁 2

Clams, bass, flounder. 3

First time in a long time I won't deep fry a turkey, but instead have decided to give a go at smoking one on my "this pandemic sucks and I'm bored so I'll buy a" Kamado Joe. Crossing my fingers. Plenty of Greek apps and whatnot along with the traditional sides to distract from any turkey misfires. Besides, gravy on everything should solve any problems. Cigars and whiskey of all sorts throughout. I’ve had two Canadian Thanksgiving’s with my KJ and they are the two best turkey’s I’ve ever had. Enjoy 👍 3
Popular Post WLC Posted November 24, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 24, 2021 First Thanksgiving in our new house. Our son will be there along with our "adopted " daughter and her soon to be new family. Smoked turkey, ham, dressing and all the usual sides. Doubtful on any cigars being in the picture though. I don't smoke in the house and it's too freaking cold right now to even be able to enjoy a PC outside. Happy Thanksgiving blessings to all. 5
FlightMedic Posted November 24, 2021 Posted November 24, 2021 Keeping it small with just the wife and kids. Turkey is already in the brine, going to get up at 0430ish and fire the smoker then tend the firebox most of the day. No cigars planned since I never smoke at home or around my kids, but the smell of smoldering cherry and hickory will keep a smile on my face. 3
Popular Post BoliDan Posted November 25, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 25, 2021 Already left town. Went south where it's warm and away from my in-laws (Whatever, they're annoying). Cheers, \ Dan EDIT: I'm pointing at a butterfly that landed right in front of us. Yes, my kid is clearly amazed. 10

riderpride Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 Our Thanksgiving was last month, but I'll drink the gobble till I wobble for the American crew. Love Rare Breed and 101 2
RichG Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 We had about twenty family members over this year. I cooked for two days, and everything came out great. Today when sampling all of the leftovers it occurred to me that one of the best things we had was a dessert my sister in law brought over. It’s a dessert take on the turducken, the piecaken. We had the original, and it was excellent. https://www.goldbelly.com/the-piecaken-shop/the-piecaken?ref=merchant 4

Would most likely do some serious damage to it.
