Melbourne Cup day today and the country effectliively has a public holiday.  We love a gamble and a drink in this  country and those traits are only possibly exceeded by a distrust of religion and politicians. On a prison continent, all were valuable survival mechanisms 

Our FOH Melbourne Cup party kicks off on the deck at 12pm and will run until Di comes up, steps over the bodies  and tells everyone that it is time to go home. God bless Di

We run a melbourne cup "pool your money speed betting day" from the deck where we endeavour to bet on every race in the country throughout the afternoon. from memory that is over 60 races. In the past if we needed some get out of jail bets we would wait for the dogs to come on in Dapto. It was never a successful strategy .....fun yes....successful no
