Great cigar and wonderful  Wines/Sauternes…Couldn’t afford either one in the 1970’s…The Zino cigar I would like to locate is the ‘Château Latour’. …Worth it’s weight in gold

Davidoff is so crazy the partial box will probably go for plenty, particularly with good provenance. Plenty of people looking to buy well-stored Davidoff to smoke. Honestly, you might only see a reduction of 10-15% in gavel price vs. a full box. 

If you haven't had one from a complete box with solid provenance before I'd seriously consider indulging just so you can say you did. Prices on Davidoff don't seem to be leveling off any time soon.

Makes sense to buy to smoke a few and sell the rest stick by stick as an alternative of keeping the box intact. It will probably only go up in value either way, might as well enjoy it.

Besides a few sticks that look like damaged paint brush bristles, does it appear to have a beetle hole on one of the sticks? Might not affect too much and all the bugs are dead by now or they would look like the CORO from the other day's posting.

As sad as it is to see 3 damaged sticks, you should still sell it whole.  Those 3 sticks would be the first sacrificed for sure.

I got on to Yiorgos to have a look at this, but he is on a day off today and tomorrow. I went in to have a look myself to make sure. I've never seen beetles in that shop, it's too cold. I've seen thousands of cigars over the years with beetle damage (I shop in Cuba and Spain and have looked at older cigars in other shops in other countries) but not in that shop.

Anyway, it's as I thought. Not a beetle hole but I understand how it looks like one in the image in the listing. 

How I know it's not beetles.

• The hole is in a damaged cigar (wrapper split at foot, damage mentioned in the description) and it is visible that the hole is in the wrapper only. Beetles chew right out or right along wrapper, binder etc. So the hole is where there was a blemish/weakness/tear in the wrapper. I've never seen a beetle hole in a wrapper only. I lifted the wrapper where it was already split to show this in one of the pictures.
• The hole is too small and and too uneven, i.e. not round. All the holes I have seen are still small but noticeably bigger than that and almost perfectly round.
• No black dust in the box, or on the paper inside and none comes out when the cigar is tapped over white paper. Beetles leave those traces.
• No sign of any similar damage on any other cigar in that box.
• As I said before, I've never seen beetle damage in any other cigar stored in that basement. It's too cold, even on hot days outside.

Incredible work. This is why BR and FOH is second to none. Also appreciate the closer look of these.
