Popular Post El Presidente Posted September 7, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 7, 2021 I was asked if I had a connection to order custom cigar moulds and woul di mind passing it on. Well, i have contacts but they are for serious commercial moulds that are expensive. I know members have had moulds made (3D prinitng from memory) and there are operators like the below who do moulds that are inexpensive ($150) but wouldn't stand up to commercail use. maybe they would do the home enthusiast. No doubt we have guys who can fill us in. 5 1
Popular Post ElJavi76 Posted September 7, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 7, 2021 I found a wood working guy from the Pittsburgh area to take on the task of making a 109 mold for me. I gifted this to Alex (Comodoro) and tbh I haven't asked Alex how it's held up. I got off of Facebook about a year ago so I haven't had much contact with him. I do recall getting a hand with this from @Chucko8 Kurt, as he pulled the 3d molds of the 109 cigars themselves. I think all in this was under $200 usd. I delivered it to Cuba myself and had Jorge put this in Alex's hands when he got back from a trip. If anyone is in contact with Alex you might ask. Although with the light tourist traffic in Havana these last 18 months... I don't think it's been getting a workout. 6

I've bounced around the idea of commissioning some custom molds for a couple years now. Sizes you cant readily find in Cuba. What an awesome gift to give your favorite roller or farmer. I would want to give them the real thing, which as you mentioned Rob, is quite expensive. It seems worth it from a durability stand point though. Probably a 46 Ring with a twist and a 38 RG. Im sure we could get a big enough group of guys together to spread out the cost. The hard part would be agreeing on the sizes. Haha. 2
