Interesting tidbit I learned on my 3,612th watch through but with Director's commentary on. In this scene the Groundhog got spooked and bit Bill several times in this scene. The bites were fairly severe and he went to the hospital for stitches.

Bill famously had a discussion with his doctor asking if he was going to get the rabies shot. The Doctor said: Groundhogs aren't known to have and spread rabies and since we don't think the animal has rabies we don't give the shot just in case. Bill said: Well what if it does have rabies?  And the Doctor said: Well then we'll know. 🤣
