On this, we definitely agree.

indeed.

sharapova v gabby S i'd watch every day of the week. but the sound turned down. can't stand that faux grunting. but you can see from those photos, anna k was just a beack kid. 100s of her every weekend on the coast.

fuzz, when i was living in london years ago, a mate of mine - played on the cricket team i ran - was the world's most widely listened to cricket commentator. which was odd because he had never heard of cricket before he arrived in london. burmese guy. nearly bald with the full fu manchu moustache and an evil giggle. terrific bloke. also a bit of a dirty old man. worked for BBC southeast Asia and was told he would be doing the cricket. so he ended up with the biggest audience in the world. i remember his 100th game for us, we let him open the batting. i got the opposition to applaud him on to the field (they were delighted to do so, most of them never having seen anyone from burma, let alone played cricket against them). never seen a bloke more chuffed. i think he nicked a four. he was over the moon. in 100 games, his top score was ten and you can bet that was 9 nicked and a misfield. from another nick.

anyway, chatting to him one day and he said he had to head to wimbledon as he was meeting Gabby. hold on!

turned out he had interviewed her a number of times for the radio and they had become friends.

"would you like to meet her?"

so he said he'd arrange drinks for later in the week. sadly, she got some sort of injury and everything was cancelled. she had to fly out early. broke my heart.

nearly as bad as the daryl hannah incident.

My favourite highlight from this Olympics has got to be Kaylee McKeown's interview after winning her first gold. Still gives me a good chuckle.

I need to start going to your beaches!  Over here, I live near the East end of what we refer to as the "Redneck Riviera." Rarely see anything quite like Maria or Anna. More like Mama June.

You gotta know where to go. Example, you don't go to Bondi in Sydney. Too crowded and the curve tends to be weighted on the wrong wide. Though I'm not saying you won't find a bevy of beauties, they're just not as easy to find.

Now, go to Tamarama, and it is completely different. Near to Bondi, but a smaller beach. More bathers and tanners than surfers and families. The quality leans heavily to the right side of the curve.

Tasmania?! Even when I was told it was absolutely imperative that I fly to Tasmania for work, I still found a way to not go!!

I still remember getting a call from the manager of the new warehouse we just built in Launceston. Some guy had driven right past the security gate (great that security just lets anyone in), and wandered around the building for 20 minutes, trying to find the arrivals gate. The airport was 5 minutes further down the road.
