Popular Post Superhans Posted July 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2021 Looking for a longer smoke tonight. Maybe not the longest cigar out there but certainly one of the larger cigars I tend to choose. Typically I will save the lengthier smoke for last thing at night when I have more time to myself. Rustic reddish brown wrapper with a dry feel. Quite loosely packed but the draw is pristine which i often find to be the case with the E2. This is from one of those great little 5 packs I have crammed into the corner of the humidor. Wish I’d picked up more. 1/3 opening flavours are a salty toasted spice with some cocoa on the finish. Hints of nuttiness. Draw is perfect as expected. Smooth and rich tasting. 2/3 smoke noticeably drier about an inch or two in. Flavours transition more toward dark coffee and a dry oak. Nice layer of spice in the background. Lots going on. 3/3 sweet mouth coating leather notes come through for the tail end of the second third and into the final third. Accompanied by milky coffee and a cayenne spice on the lips. Burn has been impressive all the way down but surprisingly fast today - near enough 50 minutes start to finish. 91 - would have been higher but the final third wasn’t up there with the first two. Absolutely nothing on the retrohale until the final inch as well which was a surprise. Otherwise a superb smoke. 9
djrey Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Nice review! 50 minutes for an E2? You must have a pretty quick pace there, that's near 2 hours for many. Was it a very loose pack? 4
karp Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Nice review for an excellent cigar. Thanks for sharing! 50min is indeed fast... the E2's I've had so far are 1.5h or so and were very good. 2
smbauerllc Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Nice review. I love the E2 and try to always keep a couple in my stash. Excellent smokes in every regard and perfectly consistent Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk 2

Felt very light but draw was spot on - the last few E2/Rio Secos I’ve had have been similar and all come in around the hour mark 9 hours ago, Lrabold89 said: ill echo that..damn 50 min! usually i get at least an hour and 10/15 mins out of these ....i would recomend slowing down if possible and see fi the final 3rd improves ..also maybe give the cigar a purge or 2 towards the final third to see if that helps Might have to try that for the next one - thanks! 3
djrey Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 End of the day its all about enjoyment. Puff at whatever pace gives you the best experience 3
djrey Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Just now, Lrabold89 said: this is also true, however i believe there are things you can do to get better enjoyment out of a cigar, even if you already currently enjoy it Totally on board with you there. There are always tips and tricks that others can teach that may improve the experience. In this case I would imagine pushing the burn time to 1.25 to 1.5 hours would result in a more enjoyable experience.
djrey Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Another tip that I'll use often on loosely filled cigars is to dab my tongue on the filler in the end. The moisture will swell the leaves and provide you with whatever draw you desire. Can really help to slow down an underfilled quick burning cigar.
