Popular Post TobaccoRoad Posted July 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 11, 2021 This is a review and a box check on a newly arrived box. Slight foot damage recommended this particular example for smoking ROTT. I usually smoke everyday and during the week a PC is the perfect size. Monte #4's have become a favorite of mine and are currently part of my regular rotation. The cigar is very firmly rolled and my fist straight cut just barely clipping the end of the cap didn't produce a sufficient draw. I clipped a little further down on the second try and proceeded with a tight but workable draw. The initial flavors were a little disappointing with sort of an acrid bitter taste. That's what I get for smoking ROTT. A couple of puffs in and the cigar begins to settle into a coffee with cocoa profile. That's what I was hoping for out of this box. About half of the way through and the cigar produces a couple of puffs of peppermint. I was not expecting that at all. Maybe another side effect of smoking it before reaching proper RH but I hope not. I really liked it even though it was quickly gone. The flavors remained the same although the coffee became more predominant as I got closer to the end. Construction was fine. Disregarding the firm draw that I believe will solve itself with proper RH, the burn was good with a couple of cosmetic touch-ups and no relights. The pics are at approximately the 1/2 hour, one hour, and one hour 15 minute mark right before I laid it down. I'm very happy with this box check. 90 days at the proper humidity and this box should be good to go. 88/100 7
