I have begun to have my first few boxes from 21 come through and so far I have noticed more consistent (looking) construction/bunching and prettier wrappers compared to 19-20. Granted I have not smoked any yet so cannot comment on that. Would love to hear how other people are finding their 2021 boxes and certainly look foreword to hearing thoughts from Prez as he goes through way more boxes than us. Is is possible 2021 will beat 19 and 20?

I just yesterday got set up to be able to buy boxes, but all the singles, 3,4,and 5 packs I have had from 2021 have been the same, and just as good, as the many 2019 and 2020's I've had

All I know is '21 better be good. The prices are unbelievable.

There are a few notable sites that have promo pages where deals are good. Blind buying has thus far been pretty reliable with the last few years vintages.

Doesnt seem like it's much different than 19/20. At least I hope not as I'm DEEP on 19/20 😁

Smoking through my 2020 production so I haven’t really experienced any 21’s. With the scaling back of production and increase in tobacco inventory due to covid, I don’t see quality diminishing in the near future.

20/21s have looked nice, but will never surpass Spring/Summer 19.

This period produced all-time greats, IMO

I don't know how you could know that.  It will be a few years before that is known.  So far, signs are showing that the quality remains.  Fingers crossed.

I certainly feel confident about my opinion from my own smoking experience(s) & you don't have to agree. And no, you don't to wait years to know that, as I can easily compare quality with all previous time periods/years I've smoked.

Not being snappy btw, just disagreeing with you.

I am smoking mostly '14 and '15 boxes. I guess I am not smoking through my inventory fast enough or I have too many cigars. Nice thing is by the time I crack a box it has some nice age already on it!

So you know that 2021 cigars (half not even made yet, most not reaching us yet) will be better than 2019.  Alright then.  Good to know!  :)

You're taking this a bit far my Portland brother 😆

Let me rephrase for you:

"20/21s have looked nice, but nothing we've seen thus far will likely surpass Spring/Summer 19.

This period produced all-time greats, IMO"

Better?

So far my thoughts are only based off looks and construction alone. 19 and 20 have been good for the most part for me. Some of my 19 boxes has have thin papery lifeless wrappers however. From my (obviously small) experience 2020 and especially 21 has produced prettier oily wrappers and less plugged/feather weight cigars.

No doubt what I’m seeing isn’t enough to make a case saying 2021 is best but I was curious to see if others have noticed the trend I am seeing.

I've been very happy with everything from 19-20 with the exception of most Montecristo. Just not doing it for me flavor wise with the exception of the DE. Also seeing a lot of fireproof wrappers on them. I'm hearing Edmundos are smoking well but I haven't had any recently.

Some cigars I think have been truly outstanding since 19. Not a fan of RASS but the best I've ever had are recent. Most Trini, SC La Fuerza, Famosos, Connie 1 have all been performing very well.

Can't think of any cigars I would be hesitant to buy blind right now.

Makes sense--there should be plenty of good leaf available right now from the excellent 17, 18 and 19 harvests.

I'm a big Montecristo fan, its my favorite marca and what I smoke the most of by far, and the 2019, 2020 and 2021 I have had have all been great to me, and problem free.

Sorry to hear that your experience with them has been the opposite.

Also find it very interesting.

Funny. Not much of a Monte fan. Had a PE in my upstairs humi and thought why not. 19 stick. Can’t remember the code beyond that. Very smooth edges. Hints of milk and dark chocolate. Dense smoke. I kinda like it. Frankly the “lightness” of the stick really fit my mood. Subtle twang
will dig this box out and put another in the upstairs humidor later. Not my every day unless flavors take a hard shift but fills a niche for me. Frankly, color me surprised.

I've always been a Monte fan but I've just found many have been off the last few years, particularly the 1-4. The DE and 5 have never left my rotation but the PE has. They've just been weird flavor-wise and have had construction issues. Also had some Especial No. 2 that were very blah, but I have heard the Especiales have been better, although hard to find.

Never liked the Media Coronas or Edmundos but as I mentioned people are raving about recent Edmundos so I might pick up a 6er next time Rob puts them up.

Interesting, I have smoked a fair number of no.2's, no.3's and a handful of no.1's and all have been 2019 to 2021 and seemed very good as usual to me.

Haven't had many PE's, just never buy them for no particular reason, lol

Also had a fair number of Especial No.2's and enjoyed them as well.

I've had quite a few Edmundos as well and have definitely enjoyed them as well.
Would certainly recommend getting a few to test out.

Never had a No.5 actually, I smoke the no.3's and no.4's when looking for a smaller monte, so can't speak on them.

Glad you have still been enjoying them and the DE also. I do smoke the DE once in a while, but typically go with the no.2's when looking for a longer monte smoke. Its also my favorite monte.

I love the MPE, No 4 and M2. I picked up a box of Edmundos 19s recently and they are very good. Heard 20s are great too.
Give the Eddie another try. I will say, I had a M2 from 20 last night, a 10ct box Rob had up in January and it was one of the best M2 I have had. People here talk about how good they are recently, so maybe try the No2 again.

Pretty much the same for me.
