Partagas Aristocrats Jan 2015 (OYMRW)

From a generously gifted full box by@David in Denver as a reward for quitting smoking.
 
Wont break the review down into 3rds, as I haven't noticed any transition in these, pretty straightforward and one dimensional smoke.
 
Dimensions: 5.13x40
Color: Colorado Maduro
Smoke Time: 50 minutes
 
Consistently good draw, burn and construction throughout the entire box.
 
Only had a few that were rolled too tight or had a plug. A few runs with my Modus II tool always make them smokable.
 
Not particularly pretty in appearance. Looks a bit rough, being fairly veiny and lumpy.
 
On the stronger side, but I would still call it a medium or possibly medium-full
 
I'm really no good at describing specific different flavors, like foods and spices, that most smokers are able to, so i will simply say that they have a bit of spice, and a little "bite" on the finish, and the overall taste is simply very tasty tobacco and a bit of earthiness. Seems to have the classic Partagas taste.
 
Most also had a mouth drying finish as well, but not all of them.
 
Comparing to recent production ones I have had, I notice no real change after 6 years of age.

The reason for choosing the recent production ones is mainly that they are an inexpensive, good tasting smoke, and I like to keep some pc's in my stock for variety and for a shorter smoke time when the weather is very hot or very cold.

Overall not a pretty looking cigar, but very tasty and inexpensive.
 
I suspect more age would mellow them down a bit, and possibly eliminate the little "bite" on the finish.
 
I have really enjoyed them and only have 2 left from the box if that tells you anything.
 
For anyone looking for a good, simple, inexpensive, classic Partagas tasting petit corona I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Overall I would score recent production as well as these, an 80

I agree the shorts are better, but at about $5 each these are a solid smoke with lots of flavor.

And they are good to go rott. 6 years of age had no noticeable effect to me, so no point in not just smoking them whenever you feel like It.
