2013 Dress boxes of RASS.  Love smoking my 2011 50 Cab ones, but these ones don't perform as well, even factoring in the 2 year difference.  Nonetheless, I'm compelled to smoke one now and then to see how they're doing.

For us Aussies without a large bank roll, that is every one of them. Everyone you smoke means one less in storage. Yes, you enjoy the moment but when you think about the cost of replacing it, ouc

I've been staring at an ugly, beat up, underfilled Trinidad Vigia for about 8 months. I dont know how it got so beat up, but the foot was cracked and there was a hole about midway in the wrapper.

I’ve got a sleeping ¾ box of RASS that’s now over 5 years old. It’s my second box, I thought maybe the first box was a dud. I’ve given it my best shot to understand the hype, but I’m beginning to thin

I smoke a ton of Famosos. Don't like Unicos. Totally different IMO. The last good Unicos I had was around 2002.

Right there with you.

Surprised how often those two are popping up in this thread.

Me too!  I have always had a pile of Famosas in my humidor and for the most part they have all smoked incredibly well.  Unicos I wouldn’t buy even if I won the lottery!

And here I thought I was the only one who couldn't get traction with the RASS.

Try the Small Club Coronas.  For me personally, they're the best of the Marca by far

Always been a big fan of RASCC. They're pretty strong so not for everyone but I can't disagree that they might be the best RA.

EBM AGO 17 D4's I bought on 24:24 last year I believe.  Bland and last third is very harsh and bitter. I doubt these will improve with age.  I have been handing them out to newbies and they like it.

On the other hand my 2019 D4's are special.

I’ve got a 2019 box of Epi 2’s and a 2018 box of Monte 4’s exactly the same as yours.

So what are your thoughts on them?

Sep 20 box of Mag 46’s. The first 4 cigars I’ve smoked so far are either completely plugged or have a very snug draw. Disappointed as I am a big fan of the Upmann marca.

Interesting to see so many D4 and Mag 46 mentioned. I’ve smoked a lot of those in the past couple of years and they are a staple for me.

Monte 2 on the other hand…I really really really tried to like them but I just don’t get anything from them. I still have approximately 45 or so left. Hoping that time will help (boxes are from 19-20).

Epi 2’s are hidden deep in the back of the humi, will see how they are in a couple of years. I keep reading they age well so hoping the 4/5 year mark brings out something more in them.

The Monte 4’s are just too tight to really enjoy. Nice Monte flavours in glimpses ruined by constant puffing and relights making them bitter. Going to invest in a perfect draw and try another later this year.

RyJ 4's, wides, and shorts.  Lit up a short last night; very little flavor and a flat, mineral quality.  Burned ok until the half way point and got really wonky.  Weirdly enough, this is my usually experience with them. They already have three years in the box...maybe three more...

LGC Platinum Edition Paisos Bajos for me.    6 of 10 were unsmokably plugged.   Required minor surgery to get them to move air.    Flavors were good once that was the case, but it was a bummer.    Still haven’t tried a MdO4 (and would love to).

LGC Regional Edition Espana D No.5 (BRO DIC ’17)

They are bad. Very bad. Burn poorly, but taste just bitter crap.

I have one left. Very different than any other LGC I've smoked.

Honestly lots of the mass-rolled Monte line...I find them incredibly boring with the hollow chocolate powder thing.

After culling, the only Montes I have left are choice No. 2s (MSU/TUA), Especial 1/2 and Linea 1935s

I know this will be hearsay to some but for me the PLPC is a total mystery. I smoked through several cabs over the years and just can’t figure out the appeal.

Bought a ten count box of Monte 4 in Grand Cayman to smoke on the island in December 2019 and they didn’t have much flavor. Brought about six of them home and haven’t touched them since. On the other hand, every PSD4 I bought in GC, including the one I bought from a lucite plastic display case at a liquor store while I was buying wine for the week, was awesome. I had been avoiding the LGC Caribbean LEs I bought a few years ago (2014 box) because the first one tasted entirely of cardboard, but the last two I smoked were great. Apparently they just needed seven years to come around.

several cabs...so as in hundreds of plpc's? you sure gave it a fair shot!

To be fair I think it’s three cabs over the last 10 or so years.

A 2014 cab of Mag46. I’ve always liked HU, but 46s seem to be the bastard child of the marca. This particular cab has dark mottled wrappers that absolutely refused to burn. What I could get to burn, just tasted like Nicaragua.

In a surprising twist, I revisited it last week, and had a couple that were absolute gems. No burn issues, and great flavors. Apparently it only takes seven years to shine a turd.

You found out on accident that a young Mag46 and an aged Mag46 are two completely different cigars.  Kudos for stumbling upon the glory of an aged Mag46 - true cigar nirvana.  I have a bunch polishing away in my humidor, including a 50 cab of LUB 2014s 🥳

In keeping with the spirit of this thread, I purchased 3 boxes of 2007 CoRo back in 2008.  One was magical and the other two were meh.  Tried the meh boxes over the years early on but they just sat and I was uninterested.  Then Covid happened and I revisited them on a whim.  Well, I guess 13 years did the trick because none are around to smoke now - loved each and every one of them.
