But sometimes as I said a whole box will be plugged or tight. Am I going to throw out a whole box? Do I dare sell a partial plugged box? I guess I could just give them away 🤔 1
Bijan Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 17 minutes ago, Lrabold89 said: i would rather just throw away the whole box or give them away....sad but true ..............as far as selling, you could always try but make sure buyer is aware that the draw is tighter .......or more of a "classic cuban draw" LOL.......honestly ive done this before, and it turned out that that is what the persons preference was....i even checked back to make sure they were happy....so ya never know Actually maybe not a bad idea. It's only happened once or twice that I got a bad box like that. Generally it's not that bad across a whole box. I would even say I don't get plugs that often. On the other hand probably half or more of cigars are tighter than is my preference. I definitely get the comment about life being too short. Same sort of logic that makes me very rarely smoke quinteros or JLPs, I'd rather smoke something I'll enjoy more. 3
NSXCIGAR Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 Are we still having tight draw conversations in 2021? I thought we all had a Perfecdraw by now... 1

Still a problem sometimes. Perfecdraw can't solve a real tent peg. It's like boring holes in a piece of solid wood, isn't going to draw properly and burn right. Edit: Even when it does fix it, usually a cigar that naturally has a good draw to my liking will do better than a perfecdraw fixed cigar. Although I am very grateful for the perfecdraw. 2

I do same thing, got enough drama, don’t need cigar drama

Now I have two bad cigars...

I haven't had a cigar that wasn't salvageable by the PD in months. Maybe one this year? Either way, so few I can't recall. 9/10 times I use the PD I can't detect I used it. The anxiety about tight draws don't even occupy my mind nor do I even take it into consideration when evaluating a cigar anymore. I can happily toss the 1/200 sticks I can't salvage and the rest are fine after a PD ream. 1

I also have very few un salvageable sticks but would say I'm fully satisfied with the draw between half and 3/4 of the time but it depends highly on the specific vitola.

Smoking just fine now. I probably use it on 20% of my CCs, usually salvages them.
SpecialK Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 If I’m Not at home and smoking with a friend somewhere else I always bring two... a backup if you will

Curious how they stack up with tight rolls, as opposed to plugs. The Modus is great on plugs, but does little for tight rolls Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

The PerfecDraw was a huge improvement and the first tool that actually consistently worked for me. It seems you need something that actually extracts or moves the leaf that's obstructing the draw. The one fin on the Modus really didn't grab anything. The barbs on the PD really grab and latch on. I find if you pull the PD out slowly enough it really drags out big chunks of leaf.
