Punch Short de Punch RAT NOV 19 (MM&SRW)

My homeboy StogieSteve23 was going on about how good the SdPs were, so I bit and snagged a box to try for myself as a no-lose proposition.  Either they're as good as he claimed and I have new stick, or he was full of it and I could mock him mercilessly, as I'm wont to do.

Well, it turns out that the power of the Pornstache is nothing to be trifled with.  The SdP lives up to Steve's hype.  Every one has left me wanting to immediately light another.  Don't know what's going on with the blend. They have a very unique, rich, well-rounded flavor that I have a hard time comparing to anything else and a harder time describing.  Just can't put my finger on it.  This is really the best I can do.

Tightly packed with almost no give.  Always feels like I'm going to curse at a plugged peg, but then winds up with a perfect resistance, smoke output and burn.  

Smooth Colorado wrap, deceptively small size for an easy 1 - 1.5 hr. smoke (50 x 4.7), dead medium body and strength. 

Hardly one-dimensional but it starts and ends in the same place (on point) without overstaying its welcome.  Graham, toasted almond, slight creaminess, baking spice, earthy, woody, with a streak of funk that pulls it all together like the rug in the Big Lebowski.  

Some black pepper creeps in around the mid point as the nicotine builds.  Other than that, pretty much keeps to the all-inclusive resort in the heart of Flavor Country.  I might use the same flavor descriptors for an HDM, but the SdP is just. . .  different.  There's an aged tobacco flavor in there, even though clearly none exists in fact.

Gave this one a go with my trusted Gatorade Zero.  Grape.  The connoisseurs' choice. 

So far, every SdP gets an "A," including this one.  I just love 'em.  If these came in a Churchill size and could hold the flavor profile, I'd buy up every one produced so no one else could experience my joy 'cause that's how I roll.

Great review. Love the SdP - so consistently good, and the last one I smoked was easily a 94 pointer. Amazing how tasty and refined they are with just over a year of age.

Your review makes me want to try Punch SDP @rcarlson! As a long CC fan, I was a bit worried this CC would be ended up being a generic short stubby CC, but good to see that it became modern reliable staple buddy 😄.

I'm sure they'll be reliable as the one you puffed buddy 😀. BTW, I bought Punch 8-9-8 box from today's 24:24 as a skinny fan despite never had any Punch cigars before (many praises of 8-9-8 on FOH also encouraged me to get that box) 😂. Hopefully, I'll have a chance to try regular production Punch cigars like SDP as well 🙂.
