Studs and duds

Hope everyone is well.

With El Presidente permission, I am re-posting his 2019 topic with 2 questions:

 1. Your "stud" box of cigars that is a stud because it has simply performed brilliantly every time

2. Your "dud" box of cigars that you just don't enjoy at all.

1). Trinidad Topes, tough call between this and Rio Seccos.  Not a bad stick in any box I’ve had, an almost NC consistency and are spectacular.  
 

2). Tough call, I don’t buy cigars I don’t like.  I get bad sticks, or even boxes but that’s the game we signed up for.  The only cigar I’ve had semi recently that to me is a dud, is every Quai Dorsey I’ve had.  At half their price I wouldn’t buy them, so that makes them twice of a dud to me.  Just my preference.

1) Cohiba Maduro Genios 2018 box simply delightful

2) Allones superiores from 2016 I am just finding not so delightful at all

STUD - It's hard to split a LGR Oct 2017 Por Larranaga Montecarlos and UEB May 2018 Montecristo No.4 box purchase. Both were brilliant because they smoked fantastically well and were great value for the purchase cost.

DUD - Probably a 2018 half-box split with a buddy of Romeo y Julieta Short Churchills. They weren't bad, but they were never overly good either, especially in comparison to a 2018 Romeo y Julieta Exhibicion No.4 I've been enjoying since.

Stud: Connie A from 2018

Dud: QdO 50 from 2020. Worst cigar I've ever had. Bought a 10ct to join the hype train, won't buy any again.

Stud RyJ Exhibicion No. 4 from 2016 I believe has been amazing in the flavor department and  as consistent as a box of Opus X.  

Dud had a box of VR Unicos that was just total trash.  They looked the part but wouldn't smoke and the ones that would were so bad you wished they didn't.

Stud: RyJ Sports Largos REG NOV 18 - not a single plugged stick, perfect RyJ profile with lots of cherry, wood and coffee bean/coco

Duds: Half Corona 5x5 pack LOS NOV 19 - 17 out of 20 smoked so far have been absolute tent pegs, have a tin of them left that just sit because they're such a let down, the three that smoked well were awesome, all coffee and baklava.

LGC MDO4 ETP MAY 17 partial box from LCDH Santiago de Cuba. Draw, flavor, burn…every time.

R&J Tacos LE LMB AGO 18 Mostly CL from one of the first 6er purchases we made on FOH. The other 6er of the purchase of 6 Monte Edmundos GOS OCT 18 Mostly CL have smoked quite well.
