Interesting, thanks - could do for food what James' Suckling did for cigars with his Heart & Soul movie ...

The paella at the Conde Villanueva can feed 5 and is absolutely delicious!

I came across this movie last night and it has me missing Cuba more...

Thanks for sharing, @Ryan. Great idea for next watch with the older kiddos...also love good Ceviche

When you return...what will you be sure to experience again personally?  And on the other hand, if you were to bring somebody along with you that was visiting for the first time, how would that itinerary change?

Incredible response. I really enjoyed reading about the experiences and people that you love. So much more detail than just a list of just places or things.

Thanks for sharing.

Mostly the company of friends, catching up.

The smell of heat and diesel when the plane door opens.

Sunset and sunrise on the Malecon, maybe with a little box of rum.

Lunch(es) in Santy's restaurant. A lunch in La Corte del Principe. Lunch in Casa Nostra.

A dinner in La Guarida, El del Friente, Michifu. Talk the staff in Bone'Ma into making me a half decent kebab.

Fabrica de Arte on a Sunday night.

Finding new bars, live music. New bars on the seafront by 1 y 70 in playa. Found great live music last year in Cafe Cantante (not for everyone)

Evenings of lounging around Espacio's. Wednesday night in Teatro Bertholt Brecht to see Interactivo. Say hello to the people in the Gato Tuerto.

Bumping into people in the various clubs. People watching, strolling around in the mornings in Habana Vieja. Early morning, freshly rolled panetela and coffee in Plaza de Armas. Picking up old cigar books. Visiting people in the various cigar shops. Finding a new rum, or new to me. Mojito and a cigar on the first night in the Salon de Historia bar in the Hotel Nacional.

Breakfast in Ramones with the staff of Mio y Tuyo nightclub.

Don Cangrejo.

Holding my sides laughing.

I wouldn't change much if I had someone else with me who was there for the first time. My wife and kids came with me for Christmas 2 years ago. We took a trip out to Pinar del Rio to go riding, see a farm etc. The Hemingway house is worth a look, I've been there a few times. Depending on the friend, cigars, bars, architectural, food, art, music, beach, there's a large variety of things to do and people to meet.

I'll take 1 ticket please! You guys know where to send the invoice. 😄

Seriously though, there isn't much I would add to that list.

The only recommendation I do have is don't be afraid to stray away from Havana. Flying within the country probably wont be an option for quite a while, but there are trips within driving distance from Havana that are well worth the effort. Pinar del Rio and the Bay of Pigs area are a stretch for a day trip, but its doable. Trinidad and Santa Clara are accessible by bus.

The southeast coast is also spectacular. I spent an amazing week in Bayamo, Sierra Maestra and Turquino National Parks and Santiago de Cuba. The whole area is beautiful. The pace is much slower, but there is still plenty to do. Santiago gets my vote for the most beautiful city in the country, most of it is exceptionally well maintained. Getting out to this side of the island is really only feasible by flying though. Miami would probably be the best bet these days.

Thanks for bringing this film attention. My wife and I absolutely loved it! All of the chapters were heartwarming and the education value was tremendous.

Another side benefit you provided ..we accessed the movie through the app Kanopy which provides you movie content free via your public library digital content allotment. There’s a ton of interesting options not found on Prime, Hulu, Netflix

Thanks again
