Plus, I lived there for a year when I was seven due to my dad working for the USAF. He worked at the Technion and we lived in Haifa. My son worked in Tel Aviv for a year a few years back and following his return to the US he and I spent ten days in Tel Aviv (2016) so he could visit his friends who remained there. I love Tel Aviv and how can one not? But all that said, living there in retirement with the huge cost of living? Not for me (I don't think). Where in Israel do you have in mind? My wife and I have not travel abroad since the pandemic. We have a trip planned and paid for to Havana in October with friends. If you consider that traveling abroad. I'd like to live in Tel Aviv; close to the water. Anywhere along the coast I suppose? Jerusalem is special too. I have family in Har Nof, but I am not Orthodox by a long shot. Ask me next week and locale could be different.
Corylax18 Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 I consider myself very lucky that I wasn't required to stop travelling last year. I did travel less, and unfortunately, only domestically. But I still took 11 trips in the 12 month March to March period when things where the "worst" here. 9 trips for work to the midwest and southeast. 3 Successful Hunting trips within Colorado. Two Awesome trips to Las Vegas as well. Two of my favorite trips ever actually. I usually go once or twice a year (5 times in 2019 between work and fun) but having the place to ourselves was great. I really loved travelling during the height of the scare, last summer especially. Wearing a mask was the only negative, empty planes, hotels, casino's, national parks, etc. were amazing. Its a bit miserable now though, most/all restrictions still in place, but planes are full again, airports (especially Denver) are packed, prices are getting crazy again. This year I've already taken 3 work trips covering 6 states in the US and I have 2 more on the docket. I'll be in New Jersey this weekend for my Godson's First Communion, Maine In Early August for a wedding, Cuba ASAP, hopefully by November though. I've been postponing a work trip to Switzerland, Austria and Italy for about 5 months, but that isn't booked yet. Still too many unknowns. I had a work trip to Oz penciled in for the end of this year, but that will almost certainly push to early 2022 now. 1

This would have been us had my wife been no so pregnant. Luckily we got a good amount of traveling in the year prior. Kudos to those that were able to take advantage.

Most definitely. Our borders are closed to all except returning Australian citizens, with exemptions for citizens in travel bubble countries (eg NZ).
BellevilleMXZ Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Not much sadly, as here in Ontario, Canada, its zoo with higher case than ever
KavalanWhisky Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Not sure if its an issue with the countries that you are travelling to but don't you have to do a 2 week quarantine there and when you return? With young kid that would be not a lot of fun I can imagine....
