Nice review!  Glad you had a good smoke.  I enjoy R&Js, I mostly stick to the Churchill’s and Ex4 but when you get any of them hitting the profile you described I think they are very underrated cigars.  Especially when the cooked/burnt red fruit/cherry pie filling flavor is pronounced, very special.

Just a wee bit of difference between that stick and that opus right?!  Lol.

Yes.. it was great from start to finish ... only got a faint perfume of fruit.. but it was really on... Creme and honey... my first RyJ of the cuban variety...the last great robusto I had was a Ramon Allones SS in early 2020. I had never heard of RA and it was the last cuban in the box and went into it on a lark not expecting it to be good...

and to be honest the other 2 I'm going to smoke this week won't touch this

RASS can be great too if you had a good one!  I had the double Corona from RA (RAG) and it was stellar from start to finish once I fixed the draw issues.

I'm at the point where I'm still new to CC's and I'm mixed on MC's I have a box of MC5's from 2019 which are hit and miss.. HDM's have also not been great but I've only had coronations and Epicure Especial.. Upmans I've only had a corona minor which was mixed... I've got a box of RASCC that are great from 2020 which I'm trying to not smoke them all at once.. I'm also aging a box of RA superiores ..  So finding another Marca that I liked is a big deal..

I've still got the rest of the Petite Robusto sampler with MC, Cohiba, HU, and partagas.. So I'm figuring it out..

I wish Habano's SA had more 10 count boxes as the cost of 25 especially the larger vitolas is huge :)

You seem to like the fuller bodied.  If I’m right try the MC2, the Upmann Mag 46, Partagas D4, Bolivar BBF, Juan Lopez 1 and/or 2.  Then try some of the more delicate blends like the Trinidad Coloniales, Epicure 1, Upmann Mag 50 and Connoisseur A (they aren’t mild cigars per se, they are just more elegant in profile to me, classier).  There’s no wrong answer!  I love them all and buy them all, but some days I prefer one and other days I prefer the other.  Try as many as you can, many of the marcas have multiple flavor profiles too (especially Upmann).  If you can score singles I’d buy a few of each to account for the odd bad stick, or 5 packs.  Or buy boxes and if you don’t like them, trade them with guys here.  Whatever you want to do is ok.

Remember there’s no rush!  Take your time, don't let anyone tell you how to enjoy your own hobby (including me).

Lol yeah I was a Padron guy for years, you’ll be surprised how easy the transition is, how eye opening and enjoyable it’ll be too.  I warn you, once you’ve done CCs long enough you’ll likely never go back to NCs!
