When I was a kid, my dad was a regular guest on the Joe Pyne show in Los Angeles. Joe Pyne may well have been the pioneer in 'shock radio.' When it came to a dual of left and right wing politics, my dad was often the guest that defended the view on the right. I grew up on talk radio! Like him or not like him, know him or not, Limbaugh gave new life to the AM radio band. It is what it is today due to his influence and craft for political entertainment. I have been listening to Rush since he was syndicated in LA. I am not bashful about it. I liked his views and how he expressed them. He was funny as hell to those who found humor in his style and offensive as hell to those who did not. That is life in general and there is noting odd about it...! As a cigar smoker he was just like us. He knew what a cigar was and what differentiated it from a cigarette. He knew that sitting down with another cigar smoker meant you were kindred spirits; right, left, or just confused, a cigar meant a good time with friends. RIP Rush... But this thread is locked. That person brings out emotions that have boiled over on every other platform I've seen. It does not end well anywhere. 1 1
