seriously, the only birds you've ever shown any interest in are those you can eat. this one must have been a grave disappointment to you. 

but on the theme, this was my balcony at port stephens on the weekend. one even tried to land on the phone when i was trying to take a pic of one of its friends.

Great photos Ken, I had two in my aviary for years and they were from the wild when i found them injured.

Di, they really are the most gorgeous friendly birds. as a kid, nothing better than currumbin, though not so keen when they would dig their claws into your head.

First color picture of Mars, taken from a helicopter.  That’s right, why send a rover to Mars, when you can send a rover, with it it’s own drone helicopter?

Saw this on reddit a few days ago.  A giant of a man enjoying a beer and a cigar in a tavern (1905).  What makes it even more fascinating was that he was born a little person measuring only 4'10' at age 18' and later in life reaching 7'1" all thanks to a tumor causing an overproduction of growth hormones.  He lived to 51 years.

That seemingly "A" type cigar in his hand looks like a Panatela.

they will take food from your hand, which is a bit rare for a wild bird. they will also land on your shoulders and head and yes, sharp claws!
