El Presidente Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 I am looking forward to the BR Year of the Ox event over the next 10 days. Looking at the auction list now there are some cracking cigars for all level of punters. There are some standouts Trinidad – Fundadores 50 Cab 1998 I am heading straight to the SLR Lonsdale 50 cab Even our own Ken has put a box up of Cohiba Sublime EL 2004 and they are one of the best examples that I have seen. Needless to say it comes with a story. Purchased from Hamlet at R&J Divan in 2005 but it comes with two different serial numbers . Thankfully he has a copy of the Factura 4
MPS Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 50 cab of Fundadores, lord have mercy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

Yep, apparently 2 is lucky though somewhat less so, so some $2,222 as well. Edit: I think it's 8, 2, 6, and 9. But definitely not 4. Edit 2: I wonder if there was a memo or oversight to avoid 4s

We didn’t have a 4th floor, a 13th floor or a 14th floor. This also allowed at 16 story building to be numbered with an 18th floor as well. I’m fully expecting Bond Roberts to follow this for the lunar new year. It’s just good numerology for the minimum bid on the Cohiba Siglo VI GR Cosecha to jump from $12,995 to $15,000 ? 2

My previous condo didn't have a 4th floor or a 14th floor but I'm 95% sure it had a 13th floor ? Edit: We probably would have had an 18th floor except the top two floors were lower penthouse and upper penthouse. 1
Ken Gargett Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 if i may speak from a purely impartial perspective, those Sublimes are the best box of cigars i have ever seen (selling as trying to move and need the dosh, otherwise...). they may actually be the best box of cigars ever put up for auction anywhere in the history of the world. selected by our good friend Hamlet. i remember another of our great mates, punch joe, telling me on a trip in 03 that quite a few of the cuban experts thought that when the cohiba CD LEs from 2003 were released that they were the best cigars Cuba had ever made. i asked him about the Sublimes a year later and the consensus was that these might even top them. speaking impartially, of course. 1
MrBirdman Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 @Ken Gargett it can’t be easy to part with the most gorgeous box I’ve ever seen listed on BR, although I suspect at least a few bidders will be eager to ease your pain

Fair enough . To be honest, it is a very special box of cigars. ......it is one of the very few that you have actually paid for. 1
