In honor of Christopher Plummer’s passing, I ask this; The H. Upmann Noellas. Do you leave them in the jar, or assume that the jar is of typical Cuban quality and transfer them to your most trusted desktop humidor?... ?

I was a victim of my parent's love of musicals... in the Car we listened to Percy Faith, at home it was R&H Oklahoma... Music Man etc... I really hated the sound of music. I joke that I was pulling for the Nazi's in the church scene ..

I store the open Noellas on in my the cabinet with cigars in the glass.  The other Noella boxes are vacuum sealed in the basement.

I keep them in the jar.  But I do open the jar for a while so excess moisture can get out. I’ve heard of Noellas molding but haven’t run into the issue myself. Maybe they were never opened...?

The 1st jar I bought in January’19, I didn’t know anything about the Noellas other than I wanted the little jar for my cabinet. I made the mistake of trying one, so by the time I got back to Havana in October, those delicious little sticks were all but gone! I’ve got it in my mind that I won’t touch this latest jar for some years, if I can keep them stored properly.

4th day of vacation, and I have accomplished absolutely nothing! ? 

Might burn a Monte 2 once I get back from Home Depot. I need to buy stuff to put up shelves in the garage, which seems like a long shot before next weekend!

When we say the word "materials", what is this in reference to? Lead or some other kind of chemicals? Tobacco beetles? Propaganda? 
 

Just curious as I do plan to get the Noella jar eventually and don't want to have to worry about any....materials.

It’s mostly glass with some thin metal, cedar and a leather(I think) strap. I’ve had them in my humidor for years and wouldn’t think twice about continuing to do that. I do leave the jar lid cracked open to allow some air flow.

It was the propaganda that I was most worried about! The 1st time I opened the jar, I was overwhelmed with the notion of wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt and listening to “Power to the People” by John Lennon!

I have no idea what that was about... ?

and thanks LLC yeah I figured as much but the obscure materials reference had me concerned! I do kind of like the idea of just popping a boveda in the jar and checking on it from time to time (if boveda dries out too fast due to bad seal, then transfer to coolidor.)

I put a boveda into jars. Then jars get wrapped or vac sealed

My elementary school showed us The Sound of Music every damn time we couldn't go out for recess.  They put our school song to Edelweiss.

It was so traumatic that I had to fast forward through the opening credits of The Man in the High Castle.  I mean it's only been 38 years... you'd think the MKUltra style conditioning would have faded by now.

@scap99 I'm still mad about the Nun taking the spark plug wires off of the Nazi's vehicles to help them escape.. LOL !!!!
