Are these still being rolled?

Whats the last box code you've come across?

CCW says they had planned for 30k (20ct) boxes with the 2015 release, though not sure if that's correct and/or it took them multiple years to achieve that number.

Can't help you with specifics like last box code but I'm pretty sure those are not being rolled anymore.

I second Nino's thoughts. Remember there were two Limited Editions that year (both very late, as usual of course), the H.Upmann Magnum 56 and the Ramon Allones Club Allones. What's unusual about that is that there had been a consistent three releases either side of that year for Limited Editions. Habanos S.A decided to market the Montecristo 80th Aniversario as a special Anniversary release, so hence it was a 'de facto' Limited Edition that year. It was that successful we got more of them down the track up until late 2018, early 2019 at the latest. I wonder if the success and re-release of the Montecristo 80th Aniversario led the way to the 2017 Cohiba Talisman being re-released? Perhaps!

All I do know is this...I didn't get nearly enough of them and I surely wish I had more!

So your guess is there's possibly 18/19 coded boxes out there somewhere?

I've got some 16/17s but wish I had bought more.

Yes I believe the early ones were 16 AMO.
Then the next batch were 18s?

Have you had the Leyenda? How would they compare? I love the Leyenda, they are outstanding! Same size and I recall people saying likely the “regular production” 80th.

There are 30 boxes with codes logged in CCW. Not sure if that is a big enough sample size to really get an idea, but it's the best data as you're going to get I think. Looking at the code spread, it looks like there was:

-a small batch in December 2015
-most of the production (70%) happened at multiple factories between October and December 2016
-a few more small batches at different factories in June, October, and December of 2017, and then a final small batch in December 2018

As to the total, 30,000 was announced as the amount they were going to produce. The boxes aren't numbered, so only HSA would know the true number that ended up being made. There is plenty of precedent for them producing both significantly more and significantly less than announced.

Anecdotally, the Talisman was in heavy production for three years, and can be found at every grey market vendor and is frequently discounted. Don't recall seeing 80 Anniversary in any significant numbers in the grey market or at discounts, and have been all gone for a while now aside from the odd box at "collector's pricing". So the numbers seem plausible.

It's been forever since I pulled mine out (they were buried deep):

I have sticks from these codes: TOS OCT 16, SEA MAY 17, BRE FEB 19

I got the (supposed) 19s from a box split about a year ago, so I guess it's possible the code was misread & was actually 2018, but I don't think so ?

The 2017 box I was talking about was November, just an FYI.

Where is this info located on CCW?

I think he's the site owner/admin. I don't think everyone can see the box code breakdown (I can see mine and those of the people who I am friends with). If I'm wrong though I'd love to see a link :)

I have an untouched LAU DIC 15 box in one of the cabinets. Honestly, I don't know why I bought it. I rarely smoke cigars with that size ring gauge and if I do, it was usually a gift. I always seem to pass them over when I'm looking for a cigar, I never seem to "Be in the mood" for a cigar that size. I need to tap into them though. 5 years went by Fast.

Yep, I just ran a manual query on the db. Not something that is publicly accessible.

Might look at adding something, but not sure what the general utility would be.

People are always curious about box codes. I would like to see the distribution for different vitolas over time.

I distinctly remember instances of Montecristo 80 Aniversario listed on 24:24 in late 2018/early 2019 with box codes to match, yes.

I just had another collector buddy mention he saw 2019 boxes in Cuba when he was there early last year. My question is answered, thanks!
