Popular Post Bijan Posted January 4, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 4, 2021 I think traditionally cigars 39RG and under were considered thin gauge. Right now in standard production that leaves the following: Cigar Name Vitola de Salida Factory Name Vitola de Galera Size Ring x mm Shape Common Name Image Relative Scale Cohiba - Global Brand Coronas Especiales 1967 Laguito No.2 38 x 152 (6″) Panetela Exquisitos 1989 Seoane 33 x 126 (5″) Small Panetela Lanceros 1964 Laguito No.1 38 x 192 (7½″) Long Panetela Panetelas 1967 Laguito No.3 26 x 115 (4½″) Small Panetela El Rey del Mundo - Other Brand Demi Tasse pre-1960 Entreactos 30 x 100 (3⅞″) Small Panetela Fonseca - Other Brand KDT Cadetes pre-1960 Cadetes 36 x 115 (4½″) Short Panetela H. Upmann - Global Brand Coronas Junior pre-1960 Cadetes 36 x 115 (4½″) Short Panetela Epicures pre-1960 Epicures 35 x 110 (4⅜″) Short Panetela Hoyo de Monterrey - Global Brand Le Hoyo du Depute pre-1960 Trabucos 38 x 110 (4⅜″) Short Panetela Le Hoyo du Maire pre-1960 Entreactos 30 x 100 (3⅞″) Small Panetela La Gloria Cubana - Other Brand Medaille d'Or No.4 pre-1960 Palmitas 32 x 152 (6″) Slim Panetela Montecristo - Global Brand Joyitas 1969 Laguito No.3 26 x 115 (4½″) Small Panetela Junior 2009 Trabucos 38 x 110 (4⅜″) Short Panetela Montecristo Especial 1969 Laguito No.1 38 x 192 (7½″) Long Panetela Montecristo Especiales No.2 1969 Laguito No.2 38 x 152 (6″) Panetela Partagás - Global Brand Habaneros pre-1960 Belvederes 39 x 125 (4⅞″) Short Panetela Por Larrañaga - Other Brand Montecarlos (2) c2002 Deliciosos 33 x 159 (6¼″) Slim Panetela Panetelas (2) c2002 Vegueritos 36 x 127 (5″) Short Panetela Quintero - Volume Brand Panetelas (2) c2002 Vegueritos 36 x 127 (5″) Short Panetela Rafael González - Other Brand Panetelas Extra pre-1960 Vegueritos 36 x 127 (5″) Short Panetela Romeo y Julieta - Global Brand Belvederes pre-1960 Belvederes 39 x 125 (4⅞″) Short Panetela Julieta 2010 Julieta No.6 33 x 120 (4¾″) Small Panetela Petit Julietas pre-1960 Entreactos 30 x 100 (3⅞″) Small Panetela Sports Largos pre-1960 Sports 35 x 117 (4⅝″) Short Panetela My favourites from these are: Lanceros CCE PLMC Du Depute Sports Largos and the 3 Entreactos. (And of course LGCMDO4 but good luck finding any). Haven't had enough Monte Especial and Especial No. 2 yet or Cohiba Exquisitos to say but those are probably great too. Personally not a fan of short filler, Monte Open or tubed small cigars though, so the Panetelas, Junior and Coronas Junior are out for me. What's everyone's favourites? 8 6
StogieSteve23 Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 In no particular order, CCE, MDO4, Monte Especial No2 and PLMC would my favorites. Wish there were more skinnies out there and I think many other people feel the same way. Far too many big RG sticks being produced nowadays IMO and that's probably a big fault of trying to cater to the US (and other) markets. 4
JY0 Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 I thought I saw that the PL Panetella was discontinued? 1

I think CCW hasn't updated it yet. Edit: It's sometimes tough to tell what is and what isn't discontinued. Fonseca No. 1 is technically discontinued but still being produced. LGCMDON4 is technically in production but no one has seen any in years.
Markspring1978 Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 In order- 1. CoLa (by a mile), 2. MdO4, 3. Monte Esp, 4. PLMC 5. CCE 2
Popular Post Pharmacovigilant Posted January 5, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2021 Thank you Bijan for compiling this list! A great reference and a great topic. I absolutely love the long skinnies format in general, but my favorites are PLMC, MDO4 and Monte Esp 2’s... 9

Monte Esp2 are good too, but I really miss the 1's. 1
Bijan Posted January 5, 2021 Author Posted January 5, 2021 As a follow up to the two other posts on medium and heavy ring gauge cigars looking at the new releases in the skinnies only the Cohiba Exquisitos, Monte open junior and RyJ Julietas released in this category after the 1960s as new releases and only the Exquisitos as a real premium release. Sad days for skinny lovers.

At least one vendor has them in stock right now. They just raised the price slightly from a week or two ago so I don't know if that means they're selling out...

I believe it's in that weird area where they axed it last year (2019), but some 2020 box codes have shown up. Time will tell if they're winding down with the remaining tobacco supply, or if it will be one of those oddities like the Fonseca No. 1 where it's officially discontinued but still made. 1
Benson Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 Speaking of discontinued, anyone have a recent date on MDO4’s? Ive been sniffing around for them for a while but aside from the occasional Bond Roberts sighting I never see them.

Haven't searched too extensively but according to this thread last seen at MSU MAR 18: 1
