an acceptable christmas lunch

an old mate set up an annual lunch some years ago. originally just his fellow doctors. expanded a bit. i have been going for about 8 years. each year gets better. 

This was the list, as best as I can recall, from Friday.

In no particular order.

There were 20 of us and one did not get to every wine.

no Fuzz, that is from the new batch. mine was one of the oldies. a friend found it in london and had it shipped out. 

i will confess that i may have gone back to that Salon a few times. spectacular.

for me, the Salon was wine of the day. the 96 Sir W close second. the sass and ornellaia both excellent. the guigal a star. the krug, cristal and le Femme all excellent as well.

after that, i think i might need to refer to notes.
