El Presidente Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Great vid. Light up a cigar and a drink. https://aeon.co/videos/the-last-of-her-kind-gricel-regales-cuban-cigar-rollers-with-readings-and-good-humour?utm_medium=feed 1

Ryan Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 Very nice video. Nowadays it's mostly Reggaetón over the speakers, though I've heard artists as various as Wham. Or is it Wham! Some fleeting shots of blending charts for cigars at 1:22 and 1:42. She has grown her hair. She very kindly introduced me to the rollers on the floor, in March 2011, as "Ireland's most famous baseball player" Hamlet's doing. 3
Fuzz Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 You're damn right it's "Wham!". They earned that exclamation mark! 1

Thank you for the clip - must have been the birth of the Baseball matches that followed between the Rollers and the Yumas as she says "we will have to challenge them" after mentioning your name... ? Happy also to hear Mr Portmann mentioned there - just spoke to him today and he's going strong. 2

Me consoling Hamlet before the game. I'd like to say it was a home run.. Anyway, I forgot to let go of the stick. We don't don't let go of sticks on purpose in sports in Ireland. 2 2

Great memories @Ryan - yes, that was the challenge she mentioned. First match in Guanabacoa stadium ! I also forgot to let go of the stick while smoking a cigar after I hit the ball ( my first baseball game ever ) as you can see at 7:45 mins in Ajay's video of the second match down by the Malecon. Great memories !
Ryan Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Nice memories there @nino. I'm reminded that Arnaldo Ovalles is the Red No. 5. He got the Laguito shirt, which was a nice touch. He got a nice hit in that video at 1:22 and would have made it home (the retailer team being in no state to run or throw), until Rob Fox rugby tackled him on third base. He laughed at the time but he really wasn't that impressed!

Yes indeed, Arnaldo was there with his son - I played some football with him before the match, slipped and gashed my knee, had it treated a few days later in Playa Larga ? The stadium is Echevarria btw, just before entering the tunnel into Miramar on the left hand side opposite the 1831 (??) bar and disco by the Malecon. 1
