Employers must provide a 'safe' workplace. You only need ask one in manufacturing or construction about what damage OSHA can do to you for a host of reasons. OSHA can site you for real risks, like people walking untethered on the roof to 'housekeeping,' which is wholly subjective. Not protecting employees from a known risk is in OSHA's wheelhouse. If a vaccine is a means to sideline OSHA, you bet employers will do it. This hits my income stream. Thumbs up. Not to me personally but I have heard the horror stories of pissing off OSHA. Not a good thing to do. And he is correct, anything from the obvious ( not tied off ) to not keeping the floor clean, a pallet leaning against a wall. hole in the roof bigger than 2 inches. It can get ridiculous depending on who your inspector is.
Baccy Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 fwiw, I'm not an anti-vaxxer. I hope this thing works and is very safe. I have more hope for the Moderna version as it's supposed to prevent transmission. I'm dealing with the stress of this virus now. A co-worker tested positive. Now I'm worried about it myself. It's all very stressful, and I'd love to see it come to an end as much as the next fella?
Greenhorn2 Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 My take on the virus. Both my girlfriend and l have had the C-19. For me it was the mildest cold I've ever had. Slight headache and stuffy nose in the morning but a good hot cup of coffee healed me right up. My girlfriend was bedridden for 4 days due to the headaches (she suffers from severe migraines anyway). It took me about 3 days to feel normal, her about 10 to 12 days. I don't think I will take the vaccine due to the fact that there are a lot of people with preexisting health conditions that probably needs it worse than I. If it comes to a point where you have to be vaccinated for international travel than shoot me up.

For low-risk individuals, yes. On 12/19/2020 at 2:44 AM, Zigatoh said: And seeing as anyone can potentially pass on the virus, there isn't anyone who absolutely doesn't need it. If you're not interacting with high-risk individuals on a regular basis, I don't see much of an issue there. Also, despite what we are being told data and evidence on asymptomatic transmission is very scanty and hotly debated among experts. On 12/19/2020 at 2:44 AM, Zigatoh said: Also, if the antibodies fade after say a year, similar to flu for example, then you'd still need to start getting the vaccine next year anyway, Herd immunity should be achieved by the end of the year, and I'll be damned if I'm getting vaccinated for this thing every year. 1

You may be right about that, particularly if congress doesn't end up providing immunity from liability to these businesses. I would think it's going to be much easier for an employee to sue than a customer. It might end up that employers mandate the vaccine for employees. 1

Lmao. this made me laugh thanks for that. So true though, amazing the side effects people will ignore to get rid of a headache, calm their allergies, or to get an erection.
Drguano Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Speaking of side effects... Your man is in the pub. His mate takes a sip and wonders, "So, are you getting some on the side?" Your man sighs and answers, "It's been so long since I've gotten any, I didn't know they moved it!" 1
BellevilleMXZ Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Whats it cost you USA folks to get this if you dont have insurance?
Hammer Smokin' Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 pretty sure I read it is available to all US citizens for free, regardless of insurance plan? (but I'm looking for the article to link it, and I can't seem to find it...) 1
Habana Mike Posted December 21, 2020 Author Posted December 21, 2020 I'm thinking next year's may cost a little more....
BellevilleMXZ Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 While I am still not in a huge rush to get it,(not that it matters as will prob a awhile before I can anyway...) it did hit a little closer to home last week. I'm a Dealer tech, and a local dealer had an outbreak 2 weeks ago. Started as 2 people, with very little symptoms. Then turned to about 37+ over the following week. And this place was careful, with protocols. So it does seem to spread easy. Thankfully, nobody got real sick from it. I'm surprised really that it took that long to hit a dealer, what with all the cars we are in and out of. 1

Habana Mike Posted December 21, 2020 Author Posted December 21, 2020 Of course inevitable. Hegelian dialect.

Depends on the rights of distribution, which is bullshit on its own. No free market, no good results and no good prices. But there seems to be current competition with varying results. We just need to allow it and let consumers decide, without government intervention... Good luck
BrightonCorgi Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Large companies will require contractors or onsite vendors to have proof of Covid vaccination once it's readily available as a prerequisite for working onsite.
