I have to admit it that I had no love for these 2 years back upon the first try of this vitola. It just wasn't my cup of tea and had shelved the idea of any further.

This year I was offered one from a friend whom assured me that they had improved. Boy was I pleasantly surprised.

Where once I found heavy cedar and pepper with a harsh tobacco, it was replaced with some cream, cherry, light chocolate, balanced cedar and toasty tobacco.

From reading the forums it seems that perhaps the quality has lifted somewhat on these and has raised the stakes from that which I may have smoked 2 years back. I do however also wonder if it could be that may taste is now more accommodating to a wider array. Either way I'm happy.

Post that revelation stick, went out and procured myself a 10 count box and have enjoyed the majority of that box. These really have turned the corner in my opinion and are the most improved of the year.

I smoked a bunch of these few years back including a full box of 25 .. maybe 5 years ago. Never liked any of it and never went back - maybe it's time I try again?

Just grabbed a couple boxes of 2020 Tubos, including one from El Laguito. Excited to try despite its size lol

I've had many singles but never bought a box. The last 2 I had were unfortunately pretty badly under filled. When not under filled though they are by far my favorite in the ryj churchill range. Great smokes. The pairing you chose sounds great also !

My feeling is that the newer boxes of them are likely to be better from the limited experience I’ve had. Will need to get hold of some from a few years back to verify my thoughts
