Popular Post Goodfortune Posted December 17, 2020 Popular Post Posted December 17, 2020 I finally found the time to break into my Christmas sampler last night. Decided to start it off with the BBF. I have smoked about 10 BBF before, all from a box from 2018. I have enjoyed the ones that I have smoked but was never blown away by them. Let’s see how this one fared. Nice 55F evening in Southern California. Decided to pair this with a sparkling water and a pour of Old Grand Dad 114 bourbon. Natural tobacco and some cedar on the pre light draw, perfect resistance. Gave it a straight cut and fired it up with a single torch. 1/3: Very thick and chewy smoke. Cedar, earth and a distinct creamy licorice that I had only heard about in these smokes before. Off to a great start! 2/3: Not much in the way of transitions and not really the most complex of sticks, but extremely enjoyable thus far. More of that creamy licorice note, some cedar and natural tobacco sweetness. 3/3: The effortless draw, thick smoke and sharp burn have really added to the enjoyment of this stick. More of that creamy licorice goodness, malt, cedar and light earth with ever so slight sweetness. I just couldn’t put it down! Smoked it all the way to the nub. By far the best BBF that I have smoked to date, wish all my experiences with these had been this good. I can honestly say I have been thinking about how good it was since I finished it. A fantastic consistent smoke! 92+ 11
