Popular Post ChangBang Posted December 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted December 16, 2020 Had a Cohiba Robusto that I smoked this afternoon that had a little age on it, so hopefully the one I got in my sampler will have more time to settle and get some age on it. Was a little underweight and I was kind of counting on it not taking too long as I needed to go to work after this cigar and have about a hour to smoke. Wrapper looked good, did have a little divet in there, almost like a corner of a box sat on it for a little. Chose this one from a 1/4 box I got from a 24:24 here. Punch cut yielded a perfect draw for me and I was looking forward to smoking my first cohiba robusto. Paired with coffee and then orange juice when the coffee got cold 1/3 - Upon lighting got grass and cream. Did start getting lemongrass and lemon rinds maybe an inch or so in. Good start so far with perfect construction and burn! 2/3 - Got tea with more of the lemon rind flavor. Really unique and enjoyable thus far and makes me start thinking that I'll need to start thinking about adding a box into my collection. Towards the end of the 2nd, continued to get a tea with a rich tobacco flavor 3/3 - Toasty tobacco with a continuing tea flavor which is great! By this time I'm starting to smoke a little fast as I'm keeping an eye on the clock and I'm about 50min in. Led to a slight bitterness, which told me to slow down. With the time, I'm not going to be able to nub it but I'll enjoy it as long as possible. Finished with a rich tobacco taste with about 1.5inches left. Burn was great, and had no relights and only ashed twice with no flaking. I give this a 7.5/10 - above average and a really enjoyable cigar. I'll need to look into getting more! To wrap up my xmas sampler reviews, I'll be smoking the Lusitania this weekend. I'll give the remaining cigars of the sampler a bit more time to age as I only have 1 of each of them. 5
Bijan Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 I get lemongrass and tea from Cohibas too at times. I wonder if this is what others label grass/hay.
