Rhinoww Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 So I got my first box of Cazzies today. I get the variation in the box shape. Marketing and jenga options. Not so sure I follow the foil wrapper inside the box though. I recall reading many mentions of keeping the foil on for aging. Can do for sure. But I have to ask, if the foil is an integral part of the aging of these cigars based on conventional wisdom why don’t folks keep other cigars in a similar setup? what is unique to the RyJ classidore?
Popular Post Bijan Posted December 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted December 11, 2020 Cazzie blend is kind of unique. Has a unique strength to it. Don't know if that justifies the foil wrapper for aging. As an interesting note the following cigars/vitolas come or came in a foil bundle at one point: Cigar Name Vitola de Salida Factory Name Vitola de Galera Size Ring x mm Shape Common Name Image Relative Scale Bolívar - Value Brand Especiales (2) 1980s Delicados 38 x 192 (7½″) Long Panetela Especiales No.2 2009 - Edición Regional Alemania Delicados 38 x 192 (7½″) Long Panetela Los Statos de Luxe - Discontinued Brand Brevas pre-1960 - Discontinued c2005 Nacionales Mano 40 x 140 (5½″) Corona Montecristo - Global Brand Montecristo No.5 pre-1960 Perlas 40 x 102 (4″) Petit Corona Quintero - Volume Brand Brevas (1) pre-1960 - Discontinued early-1980s Unknown 42 x 138 (5⅜″) Corona Brevas (2) early-1980s - Discontinued c2002 Nacionales Mano 40 x 140 (5½″) Corona Brevas (3) c2002 Nacionales 41 x 140 (5½″) Corona Romeo y Julieta - Global Brand Cazadores pre-1960 Cazadores 43 x 162 (6⅜″) Lonsdale 2 4
mprach024 Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 I actually find it annoying. Usually by halfway through a box Ive just ripped it off for quicker access to the cigars. Cazzies aren’t expensive, can be found for cheap prices at times, no point for me to get too careful when I’m just going smoke through and pitch the empty box after. It does look nice upon first opening, but it’s not very functional having to take out the whole bundle, unfold one of the ends to slide a stick out. I ain’t got time for that! 1
NSXCIGAR Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 Very traditional packaging, used pre-Rev, generally for stronger cigars like RyJ Cazadores, La Escepcion Cazadores Miramar and Boli Especiales No. 2. The strong brand Los Statos de Luxe used all foil packaging. Considered more air-tight for long-term aging while keeping packaging simple. 4
Akela3rd Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 As above. The foil stays on until the box is cracked for smoking then binned because if they're good they don't tend to last to long... Sent by spooky action at a distance 3
BrightonCorgi Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 They're not meant to be fancy cigars. Casual outdoor smoke, but a cigar you'd buy in bulk and age. 15-20+ year old un-open boxes of Cazadores are pretty desirable. 3

BuzzArd Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 I find it particularly useful for intentionally concentrating and inhaling the aroma which is frowned upon with other products on store shelves....
