You got lucky with the late 18 code. 90 points is a win. Fortunately, early 19 is back on track. Just a small hiccup in an otherwise hugely reliable cigar.

I've got a few Connie #1's left from a BRE SEP 17 box that I've enjoyed a lot. They were definitely under consideration for my Mr. Reliable.

I was skeptical when this box code arrived a month ago. I had a BRE 18 box that...sucked. Gave most of it away. But, @JohnS gave me some hope with his box of the same code as this that is smoking well.

The box has the best wrappers I've had on Connie 1's and have a strong aroma, so hopes are high!

1/3: Opens fantastic. Spice, shortbread and lemon twang. Goes well until a knot screws up the burn and becomes bitter. Once that was worked out the cigar regained its form.

2/3: The second third retains some of the poor construction, yet has solid, full flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg and shortbread.

3/3: Some chocolate enters the shortbread with the spices disappearing.

Final thoughts: I've only had the box for 28 days now and I think it showed. There were some really good flavors at times, but it was inconsistent. I think with another 30-60 days this is going to be a very good box!

84 points overall, but flavors were over 90 at multiple points!

Good to see you enjoyed it and feel there’s potential.  Have the same box code

17s were really stellar. I'm fact the ones given out at the Partagas Festival in Nov 17 (so ROTT) were some of the best I've had. And as I recall the LUB 15-16s were also delivering.

A bad 3-4 months over 5 years is a pretty darn great record. It is without a doubt my Mr. Reliable cigar.
